Actually Louisiana has an immunity law. If the load is "properly secured", they are NOT liable if a rock still comes out and screws your windshield.

That's what she said.

Had a women claim this on one of my dump trucks. I just let my insurance take care of it for her. No big deal.

Once a rock falls onto the pavement, the damage it does from that point on is no longer the truck’s responsibility.
I’m not purporting that this is moral or good but this is the way that Louisiana law regarding this issue was explained to me.
I’d personally have a problem with it if I had damage from this type of event.

Southwest Airlines might try these.

Just stopping by to say frick those truck drivers who haul vehicles with tracks and who don't hose don't all the loose dirt.

At least most commercial trucks have mudflaps.
It's the baws with 38in Super Swampers sticking 8 inches outside of the fender wells that is the problem.

Since they wash all loose gravel off the truck before they drive, you are not likely to have damage due to that reason.

I would follow that truck until they stopped, I don't care what sticker they have on their truck.
Posted on 5/15/18 at 7:28 am to texag7
Those trucks pass me off more than their stupid driving. How fricking hard is it to clean a truck after a load?
Especially the ones that say something like "stay back 200 ft"

Problem is, these trucks are often unmarked and leave you little to document.
Posted on 5/15/18 at 7:31 am to the LSUSaint
If the trucks have a sticker on them that says "Stay back X hundred feet", isn't that an acknowledgement that they will have debris flying off of their truck?
Otherwise there would be no need for you to stay back x hundred feet.

Now that hot weather is upon us can we talk about the GD retreads these fricking trucks fling off all over the road? It should be against the law to run retreaded tires. Saw a Civic hit a huge one and the whole nose of the car was destroyed and tucked under the front wheels.
