Someone explain this to me. I see it on concrete trucks and dump trucks all the time.

If a rock flies off their load and cracks your window, how are they not liable?

If you live in Louisiana then they are. They hope to discourage people from trying to make a claim with a shitty sticker.

I imagine getting those turds to pay up is another problem.

Stickers are meaningless, but good luck trying to prove the rock came from their truck.

Reputable companies will pay if you call them.

They claim once a rock hits the road it becomes the states liability which is bullshite. As other poster stated most companies will pay it if you show that you are willing to put the effort in going after them.

My father was behind a construction truck that dropped a 10 gallon bucket of White paint and completely covered his black car. He contacted the owner, and to his luck, within two weeks the owner had his car repainted. This may be an anomaly but I thought I would share an uplifting story, I have heard many many other stories where people get paint on their cars rocks, now chips, all sorts of other shite just from pure negligence of the car in front of them

Many signs, waivers, forms, contracts, etc. are non-binding and are used to discourage people from filing lawsuits/legal action.

You're better off using a $2 sticker on the back of all your trucks and avoid one 10s of thousands of dollar lawsuit in just legal fees.

Every vehicle, large or small, is responsible for securing its load. Period.

Because of the sticker. It's like when you have a pit bull and put up a "beware of dog" sign, in case he decides to eat a small child.

Meaningless

I called a dump truck company and said I wanted a new windshield. They balked. I said my brother was a lawyer and it would cost me nothing to go after them in small claims court (a bluff)

It worked. Got a check to cover deductable.

They are responsible for their load. You are also responsible for not following too close.

If a rock flies off their load, then they are absolutely liable. Since they wash all loose gravel off the truck before they drive, you are not likely to have damage due to that reason.

If a cement truck kicks up a rock from the road, they are not responsible.

The bottom line is, if you don't follow too closely, you are far less likely to have anything hit your vehicle....so do everyone involved a favor and and stay back.

My favorite is the giant road signs attached that read ‘CONSTRUCTION VEHICLE- STAY BACK 500FT’........Why yes- that should help traffic in BR. How about cover that shite better, instead??
