The AED won’t administer a shock if it isn’t needed because it is smarter than you, DUMBASS.

In that case rescue breaths bc blood is flowing, hopefully oxygen rich. 30 compressions to 2 breaths. 30 compressions at approximately 100 compressions a minute.
Activate EMS, they’ll have O2 tanks for Oxygen when they arrive on scene
AED will only activate if there is an abnormality in the atria or ventricles of the heart; otherwise a shock will not occur. Someone that is very hairy you will need a o shave them do that the pads will stick
The compressions are typically more important of the 2 bc it helps blood to flow

Diabetics often have these symptoms.

Got damn people. If they have a pulse, don’t do compressions, don’t use the AED. THEIR HEART IS BEATING FINE. The issue is that they aren’t breathing. Rescue breaths at the rate of 1 every 5 to 6 seconds. LoL at the guy who said one every 30 seconds. Who breathes twice a minute?

Press and hold the button on your Apple Watch 4. It will summon EMS.

You didn’t check your surroundings before moving on to ABCs, and the room is on fire. You fail and will never be a lifeguard

An AED won't shock someone that is not in vFib or Vtac. Those are the only shock able rythms.

Support the head and perform jaw thrust to keep airway open of position person on their side so airway can stay open. Do not do compressions if there is a pulse. A firm sternal rub with your knuckles might stimulate them enough to breathe.

If you don’t know the person don’t do no damn mouth to mouth, sorry if that sounds sorry. In reality mouth to mouth is ineffective for the most part. Find out why they went down, choking, allergic reaction, heart attack. If no pulse but have a rescue breathing device then give a breath every 5-6 seconds just enough to see chest rise, don’t over do it. Lay pt flat on back and head tilt, chin lift, kinda like the sniffing position while giving rescue breaths. You can put a blanket or towel under their back if a baby also will help maintain airway. If you feel a pulse DON’T give chest compressions. Paramedic here

Not breathing but a normal heart beat? You are mistaken somehow.

You see a person in their office... on the ground, no moving, no talking, but you hear a strong heartbeat. What to do now?
If they're boss is coming down the hall, I'm going to give them a courtesy wake up shake.
I hope they'd do the same for me.
