Aftenposten.no After Norweigen Frigate collides with Tanker the wires popped causing it to sink after it was stabilized

INGSTAD F313 snapped its holding wires and slipped into deeper water early Tuesday morning. She's now almost completely submerged, with just her radar tower and a corner of the hangar showing. The ship, however, appears stable on the bottom.

Time to call Jake at State Farm - this thing is totaled.

Was the US Navy consulting them on ship navigation?

Ive never been in the navy, but if your boat has a huge hole in it why would you park it somewhere deep? Park that thing in shallow water where it can’t physically fill with water.

This seems less than ideal.

About a dozen coonass baws, some bondo and a couple shop vacs would get her seaworthy again in a week

stupid Q- but when this happens and the electricity goes out, wont people around the ship be electrocuted?

How far will a live wire go out in open water?

they lost GPS signal. A few think the Russians caused it.

Very kind of Russia to play the part of the red team in preparing for an actual war with them.

Hopefully everyone in the various militaries will take note not to depend on GPS. An expensive lesson, but a lesson nonetheless.

Did they really just assume that vessel's gender?

SMDH.

It's 2018 and this is not OK.
