A country that is 9600 miles from L.A. is shooting rockets into the sea of a country that is 8800 miles from L.A. We all say Ermagerd!!! What are we going to do? Why hasn't Japan done anything to put a stop to it?
One sovereign country is shooting missiles toward another. Japan has some military. Japan has intelligence and spies. Japan is extremely technologically advanced. Why aren't they doing anything?
When did we, as a country vote for us to be the police to the world?

In 1952, in the Treaty of San Francisco and the attached Security treaty.
The point is, this isn't Middle East meddling. We are bound by treaty to have a stake with Japan.

China owns less than 6% of the US national debt. Japan is actually the biggest holder of US national debt, slightly ahead of China.

Well since they are the ones with missiles dropping on their coast lines why shouldn't they be able to make a decision on their own to protect their land. Seems like an ideal use for the JSDF.

The restrictions on the JDF are written in article 9 of the Japanese constitution. They have the ability to amemd this, but have not chosen to do so because much of the population is still very apprehensive about it. The government however, has in recent years, voted to reinterpret the article, which allowed them to justify different types of military expansion.

China and Japan buy a ton of US debt to prop up the USD. A strong dollar is vital to their export business.
FWIW, Social Security & Disability, coupled with public and private pensions, owns nearly half of the US national debt.
