I can't believe we can't facilitate a coup there. What the hell is the point of the CIA if they can't find a cooperative dissenter in North Korea, where psycho Kim is killing leading figures with anti-aircraft guns, to knock him off?

Assassinating him, and I don't give a flying frick how illegal that is, is so preferable to military conflict or a nuclear armed and ICBM equipped Fat Kim regime that not to pursue it at this point is negligent.

Nope....time to tell China we're sending NK some tomahawks so they can take the rest of the week off.

Traditionally, the wary nature of North Koreans have made intelligence operations extremely difficult. They're socially programmed to identify even the most subtle dissenters (and report them).

I have to think some of that shell has cracked in recent years, but I still think it's unlikely we can successfully orchestrate something internally.

Destabilizing North Korea is quite difficult. There are regional forces (China and South Korea) that strongly oppose it because they do not want to pay for what comes next.

I'd make contact with whoever I thought was a potential operator through a 3rd party and offer them $100,000 million and asylum in the West. There are always ways.

You would convey to the Chinese, which I would personally hope we've done already, that we take no interest in a replacement regime or the governmental structure or N. Korea post-Kim so long as they agree to forego any nuclear weapons development and acknowledge the right of South Korea as a free and sovereign state. Outside of that, N Korea can be totally dominated by China for all we care.

The South Koreans would fricking rejoice at the removal of Kim and the elimination of potential war with the North. The primary concerns of South Korea are fundamentally to avoid war, period, because it would be absolutely devastating for them win, lose, or draw.

Was watching this report on the news about how when they teach math to little kids there they use problems like:

“If you have 2 dead American soldiers, and add 2 more dead American soldiers, how many total dead American soldiers do you have?”

Those people are so fricked in the head.

frick that I say we take NK with force and make that land property of the United States of America. Would be great to have sovereign land right smack dab next to Russia and China.

Lol

We'd just give it to South Korea, which China doesn't want to happen.

Also, China would have to handle the humanitarian crisis if NK falls. There are millions of starving people that would need to be taken care of.

Here's an honest and probably dumb question. If we have technology that can shoot these missiles out of the sky, why not test it out in situations like this? Or would doing that "show our hand" and give them an edge somehow?
