There was a time not too long ago when TOUCHING (no one ever thought of taking a swing at) an NOPD officer was a one-way trip to the emergency room. Everyone knew it and everyone behaved. There were still fights and shenanigans but when the NOPD showed up you got the frick out of there to avoid them. It kept the FQ under control. Now, with video and the Police Monitors, that has stopped. And the violent crime has skyrocketed.
I can't recall a single shooting on Bourbon Street when I was growing up. Now they seem to happen every other week.
I am pro-police but I also very much respect the rights of the individual and in now way advocate a police state. But a healthy fear of NOPD in the Quarter (where a few officers are tasked with controlling enormous crowds) is a good thing.

I expected way worse. Not worth the time or effort. Bitch was involved in a fight. Struck the officer with her hand/purse. Anybody who doesn't like it needs to put on a uniform and stand a post.
