Non-political point about the Mueller testimony

Every so often you get to hear from someone who is supposed to be an expert in their field, someone who has risen to the top and you expect to be dazzled with their depth of knowledge. I couldn't help but think yesterday watching Mueller: more often than not, you find yourself surprised at how little they know.
Sometimes I wonder if anyone knows anything anymore.

If anything it proves he didn't really do much in this investigation, he was just a figurehead

The only person who knows anything anymore is that earthquake lady they had on tv a few weeks ago.

100% agree.
But it wasn't just the Mueller fiasco. I've seen it happen so many times in other fields and areas of life. Just head-scratching.

This and the fact that the man is 74.

We've become so reliant on our phones that our memories are becoming short term.
Why remember something when you can re-Google it when you need it?

I remember when Colin Powell was supposed to wow us with the evidence for WMDs in Iraq and all we got was a slide show with the same pics we had already seen. Everyone is stupid.

Trump is 71 and as sharp as an arrow.
Mueller is clearly not.

The guy has been instructed to say nothing by the Justice department.
From a quality of life standpoint the less he says the better
I wouldn’t read too much into yesterday

I think the guy is just old and tired. probably ready for all this to go away.

Plenty to read into yesterday. This guy had no clue about a report with his name on it. It was a National embarrassment.

Pre testimony build up by the talking heads told us how experienced Mueller was at testifying and how hard he was preparing for the hearing yesterday.
They built the guy up as Clarence Darrow and reality the guy was shown as a tired, old empty suit with nothing on the ball.

I didn’t watch much, but he looked and sounded old and confused

(I'm not saying the following does or does not apply to Muller. I didn't watch hardly any of his testimony).
One thing I've learned over many years of living is that people sometimes become successful for many reasons besides technical knowledge in the field they are in.
Things like personality, being part of the good ole boy (or good ole girl) network, the situation someone is born into, the people in their circle, the school they went to and the connections they made, etc. all play a big part.
Especially at executive levels (whether local, state, federal and even sometimes in private business), a lot of what people do is managing people - employees, peers, outside entities, etc. And make some of the strategic decisions based on input from others.
