The Audubon Zoo welcomed a critically endangered Sumatran orangutan infant into its family Sunday morning. The new arrival is the first offspring for the zoo’s 12-year-old orangutan, Reese, as the result of breeding with the Zoo’s male orangutan, Jambi, the Audubon Institute said in a news release. The infant arrived earlier than expected, but appears to be doing well.

Nola dot com

I went to the zoo this morning to get a quick walk in. The Elephant, tiger and orangutan exhibits were all closed off.

Good to see the baws at Audubon are bringing more orangutans to the world. They’re amazing.

Pissed I didn’t get to see any hippos either.

I read the title and thought I must have missed the election for a new Mayor.

I was unaware that Audubon essentially had a breeding center on the West Bank past English Turn.
