This is so par for the course with NOLA public employees. It's just remarkable the level at which they don't do anything and collect insane salaries, sometimes at two different jobs.

This is from a city retarded enough to elect Teedy. Twice. Should not be shocking.

“Paid leave?” So she’ll continue to earn $355k for doing nothing? Talk about some privilege. This is exactly how federal funds are stolen from the taxpayer.

she’s only on paid leave from the RTA - the article said she ‘parted ways’ with the place in Tampa

I assume Tampa simply fired her for cause. You would think a competent city like Nola would just do the same.

Precisely and in all honesty provided she was doing everything asked of her then I’m not even mad tbh. Clearly she managed to balance her time well enough that neither authority noticed any lack of performance.

If she’d set herself up as a contractor without exclusivity or consultant to do the job functions she’d have been golden.

It’s also pretty amusing how so many WFH folks often like to brag on here about going to the gym, doing house chores, laze around the pool etc. but here is someone who figured out how to make an OT-worthy income by being industrious.

And by in on it, we mean taking a cut.

Thought that was pretty much the standard for government jobs. If they slashed half the government jobs in this nation nobody would notice except the ones that had no job.The secretary of the secretary and the assistant of the assistant would be jobless.

Sounds like she’s hustling. What law, if any, was broken? If she can work remotely and get in her deliverables, what’s the problem? Maybe she is putting In 10-12 hour days and she has the experience and expertise to be efficient and effective in both roles?
If you say too much pay in these roles that’s not on her. As they say, don’t hate the player!

She's very well paid in both jobs, which also illustrates the change in how government employment operates. Years ago, the philosophy was that government jobs paid below market but made up for the lower pay with lavish retirement benefits.

Now, they are often paid above market and still receive the lavish retirement benefits (which is why so many government retirement plans are not fully funded).

Government jobs in big cities have basically become a reparations program.

Irony, of course, is that she and her ilk HATE tax payers with every fiber of their being, while simultaneously robbing them blind. Anyone who dares point this out will be called a racist, and everything continues to go on as "normal".
