NOLA ranked #3 best US big city

It's easy to only experience New Orleans on a surface level: just Mardi Gras and Bourbon Street, Cafe du Monde (which is great, don't get us wrong) and Preservation Hall jazz (also fantastic). But there's so much more to NOLA—found in its blend of Creole, Cajun, and French roots, which seasons everything from the music on Frenchman Street to the food and cocktails in the French Quarter over to the Bywater. Then there's the revitalized Arts District, or Warehouse District, where you could stumble upon half a dozen excellent galleries in a few blocks (or spend a whole day at the National WWII Museum)

No mention of jobs.

One of the metrics for evaluating cities is how unique it is. New Orleans is undeniably one of a kind. It has architecture, food, and traditions that straight up aren’t available to be experienced anywhere else. There’s only so many places like that in America. New Orleans has a lot of problems, but don’t pretend like it doesn’t have a lot of special qualities as well.
One of the things that struck me about Phoenix was that other than the climate and the scenery outside of town, absolutely nothing about that city seemed any different from similar neighborhoods in Atlanta, Orlando, Dallas, Houston, L.A., etc.

Pretty sure that’s the murder ranking

It's a great city not sure I'd consider it "big" though

over to the Bywater
the bywater is an absolute shite hole. People think building a $300k house between two $50k houses is a good idea.

That’s awesome for NOLA. I’ve never thought of it as a “big” city, but glad it’s getting some good press.

Since when are there still $50k houses in the bywater?
I swear the lies people tell on this site are phenomenal

He rode through the Bywater once. He’s an expert now

Is it really a big city though?

Chances of getting shot in the face, true NOLA style, extremely high.
