Because the end justify the means.....they really aren't against the removal. They want their money.

True but the city is on the hook for millions owed to the firefighters. Money Mitch always says the city is broke. They were complaining about 600k bid before. Felton wants the full amount not just peanuts.

So is this a Case where a bid was submitted, then Mitch sends in the firefighters undercover. And the city pays out for work done.

And a little slippy-poo and the money disappears?

Also look in the photo that was posted of McConnell...he has a radio mic on his shoulder, which would mean he was in radio communication with NOFD dispatch? Which would mean as a salary appointee he was acting in official capacity as a Chief or supervisor.

The problem is the bid didn't include the Liberty Monument. That may be the loophole here

A bid is public record and even if one was submitted under a guise the Chief of NOFD can not receive compensation for any work done for the city except his official capacity. MANUAL LABOR IS NOT ONE.

Isn't this the exact sort of thing the union is supposed to protect its member from?

So either the union chief is either being dishonest about his knowledge of the situation, or the NOFD chief and the other firefighters were doing construction work incognito on a city project behind the union's back.

The Chief answers to only one person in the City of New Orleans. He could care less if he pisses off Felton.

I bet a lot of this is a gotcha for running his count sister out of office.

Imagine if one of those poor fire fighters was actually injured while removing the statutes at the mayor's behest. Lord have mercy!

That and the fact that he will never hold a public office ever again. He was counting on his sister to be re elected to slingshot him into the governors mansion.

Can a FOIA request be submitted to City Hall?

You can submit FOIA requests all day long but ultimately the people with the records have to comply, and I would be shocked if these characters would comply.

-------------------------------------------------------------

His monument stance fricked any hope of him ever being elected to a statewide office like governor, whether Mary got re-elected or not. LA is only about 30 to 35% black and very few white people will vote for this prick.

He started this shite to pander to Barry and Hillary. He was betting Clinton would get elected and appoint him to some cushy administration position or a judgeship with lifetime benefits. Much to his surprise, Trump won.

Now his only angle is to set up his blow buddy, John Cummings, in the short term, and wait for judge seat in Orleans Parish to open up or wait for the US Rep seat to open up.
