So who is the "New Orleans music personality" that is offering up the $600k to tear down the statues?

My bet is an off the wall choice, like Ronald Williams.

I think Wynton Marsalis has said some stuff about it before.

that was a lie

Also, if city contractors, city employees, firefighters, policemen are receiving death threats...why isnt the FBI investigating and why hasnt any arrest been made?

another lie?

Also, where are all these people that are so offended and upset about these statues?

more lies?

Not buying all this crap about death threats. Landrieu, being the huge vagina he is, would most definitely NOT have been seen in public if anything even remotely resembling a threat had occurred.

Sorry for the delay MaHittaMaHitta

This is where it gets interesting for me. As a previous poster mentioned, a lot of firefighters have 2/3 jobs on the side so if they were offered an on-the-side gig then I cant fault them (even though I am against the removal).

It will be interesting to see if they were on the city clock during this.

Should be easy to verify....assuming no one has already altered work schedules/records.

What laws exist that prohibit use of firefighters for this?

I'm a New Orleans resident, and i'm pissed off.

Mitch Landrieu is a POS. And it doesn't even really have anything to do with the monuments themselves. Frankly, you can take them out of the equation, and look at this for what it is.

Landrieu basically took a page out of the old Democrat playbook: Take a "moral" stance and the ends automatically justify any and all means. In other words, if you question whether any illegal or unethical or corrupt behavior went on during this, YOU'RE the immoral racist who is simply putting up unnecessary road blocks because you clearly love the Confederacy and white supremacy.

I loathe this guy, and he can't be gone soon enough. Of course it's New Orleans politics, so there's always the chance we could get "the devil we don't know" next election.

Mitch definitely became an opportunist. He should fix streets vs take down monuments that have been in place for 100 years. I hope he violated something by using city firefighters

I would imagine that it's a per se violation of the union collective bargaining agreement so multiple federal law violations.
