He will not hold a "public" office again but will move towards what his much older predecessor did with the Urban League. This is all strategic.
It is illegal so he must have declared some "emergency" within his office. That is the only way he could have used City funds to accompkat he did.
Where the F is Johnny Eyebrows? Do one of y'all need to hit him up?

Imagine if one of those poor fire fighters was actually injured while removing the statutes at the mayor's behest. Lord have mercy!
-------------------------------------------------------------
Obviously, firemen must go through some safety training involving ladders and lifting equipment. But there are a stack of rules about Elevating Work Platforms and standing on the mid-rail is a huge no-no.
If that guy fell, and was on the clock as a city employee, the city is on the hook. Maybe a shell company was set up for them to remove the monument under that actually had insurance and the proper inspections and permits. Who know?
I do know that many of the places I've worked, that behavior gets you reprimanded and sent home. Some facilities may ban you permanently.

See this where I soured on jindal, if he wouldn't have been chasing rainbows in the second term he could have made some unpopular decisions like shutting down some of these unnecessary schools that are just a drain on our pocketbooks. Sadly, I think vitter may have been able to do the same since he didn't aspire to anything higher. fricking voters in this state.

What? This has no relevance to the discussion
Public funds were used under an "Emergency" order. How corrupt do you need to be?
Can someone post Zuriks email so we can explain our frustration? If not, this is getting swept under the rug.
I have no personal vendetta against the Mayor but laws are set in place for a reason and he is manipulating them.

Wasn't an emergency when it was out for public bid.
Lord knows it takes Mitch 3 months to sign a contract for a normal bid project.
What's up if it was let put to bid?
How can this not be a reason for impeachment?

I like Travers but this will take someone who isn't scared of losing their job.
We are talking corruption from the Mayor of the City of New Orleans
I'll help by don't have the connections.

Lee is well aware. He just reported the story on the 9 o'clock news.

Hint:
Have him check the assessments on the landrieus homes as well. Let's just say they are well below market rate.

The same union that Mitch has been stiffing its members
all of this time, despite a court order?

You can submit FOIA requests all day long but ultimately the people with the records have to comply, and I would be shocked if these characters would comply.
It would support the narrative of shady if not illegal activities conducted as part of Operation "Stealth" Removal

Maybe, but I'm guessing there will be very little tipping going on... for SOME reason.

Guess no local media cares that the mayor lied and used tax payer funds and city employees dressed like ninjas to do this.

Someone needs to send the pic on page 2 to OSHA. Standing on the mid-rail is a violation. He does not appear to be wearing fall protection, another violation. And I would think having the rigging strap run between his legs and looped around the right would be considered a trip hazard.
Normally I avoid OSHA but I might try to bump this up the food chain there.
These douches need to get reported.

If he ever gets in front of a jury they might feel differently.
