This is the kind of case that makes me think that if I had a terminal illness i would take that piece of trash with me on my way out. Just kill his arse and I'd be dead soon anyway so it's not like I would cost the taxpayers much while in custody.

Like my little parting gift to the world.

All of that being said, this guy will die a street death in the next year or two and save us a ton of tax dollars. Guys like him always walk away from an acquittal thinking they are now bullet proof and run right into a real gangster who smokes them down over a dime bag or a $20 bill.

And some want to require a unanimous jury decision to convict? Those idiots can't even convict a case of clear guilt as it is now.

well maybe it should be a jury of the victim's peers and not the accused?

I read as much as I could find about this trial. Damn. Just DAMN.

Will this give every crook wearing an ankle tracker a license to do whatever he or she chooses, so long as they do it with a crowd of their best budthugs?

For the victim's family, this is about as bad as it gets and there is nothing we can do to make it any better for them.

Could I loathe NOLA any more? I'm not sure, but it seems to keep giving me opportunities. For my friends still there, I pray.

In the big picture, unanimous verdicts won't make that much difference. The streets of Louisiana are already very well stocked with criminals who have either never been caught or never been convicted, or who have been through the revolving door of the court system. A few more on the streets because of a single dumbass or crooked juror won't really make it that much worse.

Add in more crooks on the street due to unanimous verdicts, "prison reform", and felons soon voting to elect their own "leaders" and the future of Louisiana becomes crystal clear. Dwelling at or near the bottom in all good rankings, and sinking fast.

When white hate is promoted and encrouraged on a daily basis in our news media, commercial advertising, and entertainment industry, what do you expect?

Sad for the family of the innocent victim.

In this case, I think they are. There are always a couple of complete imbeciles on every jury that want to say innocent no matter what is presented. I think 10-2 guilty verdicts are fine and reasonable.

There is something about pizza delivery that can make a crime become untouchable.

See Netflix and EVIL GENIUS.

Brown plead guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 40 years in prison, so at least someone will do serious time for his murder.

He will be out in 3-5 years.

Defense attorneys Gregory Carter and John Fuller told jurors that while his ankle monitor data showed Hughes was at the scenes of both crimes, he did not actually play a role in either incident. His ankle monitor data showed Hughes leaving the scenes as the crimes were happening, they said. Carter said Hughes did get in Yeager's car after he was killed. And ankle monitor data showed Hughes was with Brown at the spot where Yeager's license plate was later found.

Wouldn’t that make him an accessory?
