The NOLA population that supports this injustice will suffer the most by far at the hands of animals like these. But the rest of the population should wise up, face reality, and GTFO.
And no, this isn’t a NOLA vs. BR comment, because BR is in the same predicament.

It's a politically correct verdict.
I'd like to see the make up of this jury.

Surely you didn't expect them to be found guilty of killing a white man.

If they didn’t do it then who did?

Although I fully agree this guy needs to be hung...

I am going to risk the wrath of the OT and point the finger a different direction here. None of us were in the courtroom for this case BUT I have been in the courtroom when a lazy ADA did a shite job and a jury was practically forced to acquit a scumbag. This District Attorney has had some pretty serious issues, like the fiasco with the fake subpoenas, and I am not real sure that this doesn't lie (lay? I can never get that one right) at his feet.

If the prosecution just tossed the ankle monitor data out there and said "he was there, he is guilty" then it is lazy / shite work. We all need to remember that this is still America and you are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

All of that being said, this guy will die a street death in the next year or two and save us a ton of tax dollars. Guys like him always walk away from an acquittal thinking they are now bullet proof and run right into a real gangster who smokes them down over a dime bag or a $20 bill.

So are they saying that Brown acted alone and the police won't search for an accomplice or are they saying that Brown had a different accomplice? Do the police act like they are searching for another guy even though they and everyone else knows Hughes was with him?

That is freaking ridiculous.

also... what evidence the NOPD investigators brought him... did they have anything linking the murder weapon to him... plus why wasn't part of the plea deal the 1st guy took that he has to testify against his buddy?

This too. You are 100% correct, I didn't mean to lump the ADA and the investigators together but ( on reviewing my post) I certainly did. I usually toss it at the feet of the prosecutor though since they can direct the Detectives to gather additional evidence, use their own investigators or (in the worst case) not go to trial until they have the right evidence. No statute of limitations on homicide after all. Hard to believe they went on this guy without a cooperating witness pointing the finger at him from the stand.

Hughes admitted to being on the scene of both the Uptown stick-up as well as the killing of Yeager. However, he claimed that in each case he ran away just before another youth, Rendell Brown, committed the crime.

I guess this fellow is just unlucky. Must suck to be at a crime scene on back to back days in Uptown and Midcity.

Cases like this bothers the hell out of the general public for good reason. A guy that, from what we know, murdered another human being or at the very least was an accomplice gets to walk free.

However, it's the prosecution's job to build a case on available evidence that this person is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt since the burden of proof is on them to prove guilt and not the defendants job to prove innocence. Our system, while frustrating at times, works quite well and most of the time keeps people that are wrongfully accused out of prison.

He will be dead or in prison within 2 years

The latter will be because a cop will stick something to him because of this shite

So hopefully he will get convicted of armed robbery and go to jail for a long time

I think that some people become convinced, presumably by the defense attorneys, that "reasonable doubt" means "without a shadow of doubt." It may be be technically possibly that guy didn't pull the trigger, but a reasonable person knows he played a role in the murder of that man. From what i can tell at least. Im sure i would have more information to think about of I was actually in that jury.
