My next door neighbor talking to someone outside yesterday morning. She has a loud, abrasive Cajun accent. That’s enough to start your day full of hate...

Used to live in an old shotgun house in the LGD. Watched Paranormal Activity before bed. Around 3am the floor started to vibrate and bump from under my bed. Then I heard howling, moaning, and shreeks. After I checked my sheets for piss, I was able to make out that it was cats fighting under the house.

A solid 15 seconds of shite my pants thoughts. What a rush.

Kid at my grandparents farm. Perfect weather so no noise no AC running and a peacock started “calling/screaming”. It was bedtime. It scared the living shite out of me.

Also when a dog or dogs bark for no damned reason at 2am. Especially when it’s a different type of bark. My bigger dog is quiet. If she barks she heard something.

Exploding head syndrome

Mostly loud bangs like explosions or thunder-like sounds that echo for a while but aren’t really there

ha. that's pretty funny. my gf sits up and says random shite. took me a while to get used to.

almost forgot, these two woke me up and both happened at my grandma's house:

1. Space shuttle Columbia sonic waves

2. Lightning bolt on a tree 10 ft away from me.

both scary as hell

Lived in a 1858 shotgun double (had both sides) about a block from a mainline RR track.

Had lived there a couple of years and got used to trains passing while I slept, I wouldn’t wake up.

One night about 3:00 AM, for some reason, I woke up from the train whistle. I couldn’t go back to sleep so I got up. Drove around to the three crossings near my house, saw nothing amiss.

Found out the next day that a High School friend’s brother had committed suicide by jumping in front of the locomotive but there was a delay in the engineer notifying the local authorities.

I had been first on the scene but the body was between two crossings so I didn’t see it.

I never told anyone.

Way back - cats fighting under house in middle of the night while sleeping in my grandmother’s old shotgun place. Yowling was otherworldly.

Now - when our lawn sprinkler spray spigot goes off at 3:00 am outside my bedroom window. When you get older you just sleep lighter.

A third of the front of our house is a 200+ year old log cabin.

Woke up to the sound of a snake moving across the wooden plank ceiling searching for mice. Strange sound. Prefer cats for varment control.

I was staying at my parents house a few months ago and I was awoken by the sound of the door bell at 2am. It was a police officer letting me know that there was a fire against the outside of the house about to catch the roof. It was from a cigarette my dad threw down outside in the back yard, caught some pine straw on fire then a small bush that was close to the house. We got it put out before any major damage was done. Both my mom and dad said neither one heard the door bell and were thankful that I just happened to be staying with them that night. It could have been a mess
