In the current economy, if someone can simply show up on time, they can make a good living.

They don't even need to be clean. Just show up. Boom! Already ahead of 50% of the workforce.

I’ve seen anecdotal evidence of this being true. I HEAR this from people who employ entry level positions all the time.

Nothing personal, but I’m calling bullshite on your guy.

I have no fricking sympathy for people like this. 20 years old you should be able to carry a job and live on your own. People that coddle their kids in their early 20s act surprised when they never want to leave.

he started doing Door Dash, Uber, basically all the app jobs… to his father surprise in less than a month he actually has enough to move out and handle his own car insurance…

Who paid for the car he uses and who will pay for the more frequent oil changes and maintenance. That’s what I’ve heard kills most money someone makes from Uber, Lyft, etc

Unless they were invested in the stock market before Biden.

I mean I guess that's a good job these days for some. But it still lacks ambition

As a society, we have to change this view point. While it may lack ambition, it’s still a job that needs and employee to work. Don’t get me wrong, I understand your statement. It’s not a job you would want your son or daughter to have. But guess what, there’s tons of jobs out there that one would feel is underneath them, but someone needs to do it if not we won’t enjoy certain things in life.

I know what you are saying, but the examples you gave will only go so far.. But it is a start and a temporary solution. I know someone who needed to make some extra money and from like February 2021 to midway through the fall 2021 made more than what he needed being an Uber driver on the weekends and every once in awhile doing it after work. He said when the bars by LSU opened back up, it was a steady flow to Tiger Land to apartments all night long.

He said one day he had to drive this older couple to St. Francisville and they had a good conversation on the way and ole boy gave him a $100 on top of the paying through Uber.

There is always demand for uber drivers.

But if you are a 20 year old with only yourself to support, there really isn't an excuse for not earning money.

There was no reference as to what city the Dominoes driver was working.

It's Bend, Or. Most Fast Food places here are paying at least $18 an hr. He told me that he's making 13 an hr plus tips and that tips made up most of his income.

That is a ridiculous excuse and there seems to be this idea that luxuries are necessary. Teach your kids to cook and that alot of the shite that they have for entertainment is not necessary. You don't need internet to live nor do you need those streaming services or the latest and greatest tech gadgets. When you are young you are supposed to struggle a bit. People think omg I can't let my little Johnny struggle at all and it is a ridiculous mentality.

There is definitely money to be made doing gig apps if you know how to work the system and live in a decently large area

I would want something more guaranteed but its not a bad option if you have lost your job to get by until you get a new job
