My co worker son (20 yo)who is the laziest human being alive according to his father… was given a ultimatum to start contributing to the household monetarily or go live on Essen or College at the corner… he started doing Door Dash, Uber, basically all the app jobs… to his father surprise in less than a month he actually has enough to move out and handle his own car insurance… of course his mother won’t allow it but it’s the point he did it…

I know this boy he went his whole teenage years only mowing the lawn once which turned out a disaster… if he can be gainfully employed anybody can

I mean I guess that's a good job these days for some. But it still lacks ambition

I know a guy that delivers for Dominos that told me that his average income(counting tips) is 5-7k a month. I'd be lying if I said that the thought of riding around, listening to podcasts, and making that kind of money didn't sound like a pretty good gig.

Gig jobs pay the rent but he'll never be able to save shite or give himself enough time to invest in other skills that might make him employable elsewhere for more money.

Factor in the actual wear and tear on the Honda and he is probably 15k in the hole by years end.

Payday loan scam is all this delivery stuff is.

But it never ceases to amaze me the number of 8 dollar an hour workers spending 10 bucks on a smoothie

Sounds like your coworker needs to give his bitch an ultimatum as well.

I can see why you might feel this way. However, no one knows his situation. Maybe he wants extra spending money. Maybe he has a child that he is putting through school. Maybe he is going through a divorce.

The point is he is working and trying to make the best of his situation. That should always be commended in our society. Making a postive contribution.

The number of lazy or stupid people using Door Dash/Uber Eats to get coffee or chicken sandwich's just amazes me.

Was at Chick-fil-a the other day and standing by the take out orders. A basic chicken meal is $20 (regular fry and drink) with no extra tip.

Only thing amazes me more are the 18-24 year olds screwing for nominal money. It is a new world.

Certainly zero reason to be broke at the moment. Plenty of opportunities to make money.

In the current economy, if someone can simply show up on time, they can make a good living.

They don't even need to be clean. Just show up. Boom! Already ahead of 50% of the workforce.

There are a lot of old retired guys that drive uber for some extra cash and mostly out of boredom.

Keeping a clean car and figuring out the best way to get around a city seems to be a hobby for them.

Just goes to show that anyone can make it if they have a semblance of motivation.

Instead we have oxygen thieves being paid to breed.
