frick Unions. They are not needed anymore with labor laws, osha, etc. nothing but a corrupt money grab. They don’t give 2 fricks about their “members”, only their pockets being lined. Useless lazy fricks.
Careful, there’s a plenty of plant baws here.

90% of plant guys aren’t in unions

Didn’t the last strike leave your representatives worse off than before and didn’t they not want to go on strike but your union leadership demanded it

Ha, I’m about to be dealing with this at work right now. May have to send our guys home for a week or more while the union pickets outside the gates. Try to explaining to the other hard working guys who just want to make a check that they can’t work because the union decides they wanted to throw a fit outside the gate, which by the way, has nothing to do with us or the work we do.

How much of your union dues go toward this?
The union pays it's represenatives while sitting on joint safety committees.
These committees are there to make sure that safety concerns don't fall through the cracks in a complex organization.
I can't give you an exact dollar, I'm not privy to the financial statements.

USW was going to take BR on strike for a safety job USW didn’t fill for over a year. When Exxon clipped the unfilled job, USW threw a fit and threatened to strike locally. BR membership told USW to get fricked, so USW took BR off the bargaining pattern like a petulant child.
The ineptitude of USW in that moment was staggering.

frick that. If I was still a Shell employee I’d cross (if it came down to that) in a second.
The guys that crossed several years ago and went to work made $$$ and guess what? Everything is just peachy with everyone else the only difference is I’m short the $10-20k they made.

There won’t be a strike. Too many plant employees still living paycheck to paycheck and not a valid enough issue to even sniff a strike. They’ll take their 2.5 - 3% a year raise and all be happy.
Posted on 1/23/19 at 5:34 pm to CollegeFBRules
They're asking for 8% a year for 3 years and a bunch of other dumb shite.
I'll enjoy watching them walk out an see the union break.

Last I heard the plants brought 9 issues to the table and the usw brought 48
I literally watch union guys everyday sit around and do nothing. I mean nothing. I watched 6 of them show up on job. 5 sat there and watched 1 guy work.
Or the best ... “ I’m a pipe fitter , I ain’t doing that “

Sounds like you sat around and watched people who sat around and watched people. Then complained about the people doing nothing while you watched them.
I'd hire you as management tomorrow. You're just what we need.

Thy do because I don't come to the table with unreasonable shite looking to meet in the middle.
If the sad arse union members would do their job instead of using the brotherhood as an excuse not to do anything maybe you'd find the support you're looking for, but no one I know has any positive experiences with anyone in USW.

Says the moron who only watched! So how many calories do you think you burn while sitting there watching these bad old union guys sit around and do nothing everyday? You just outed yourself, dumbass!

You do know that in most cases where a person quotes a statistic, they just pull the number out of their arse with no supporting facts. And even if this moron were correct, which he or she (or it) is not...it's the union guys that help the non-union workers pay stay at the levels they are. Wake up tomorrow with zero unions in this country and see where the wages go to within a year! You haters should be thanking those bad, old union guys!

Either this is a troll post or you have an extremely overinflated opinion of the USW.
Go ask the USW leadership about how the strike fund works. I was appalled at the answer they gave me.
