Hey jackass... I could have done the work by myself. I’m a contractor. But then , I’d get in trouble for taking work away from the union guys. Or better yet, I could do the work and the union could file a grievance and they would get paid for doing the work even though they never moved from the break room.
Nice try, try again !
Ah, you're one of the 'good' contractors.
Probably many reasons you are still a contractor.

Unions could have been done away with 20 years ago and everyone would still be doing well.
I call bullshite on this statement! Without unions to strive for safer working conditions and better benefits, life as plant workers no know would drastically be changed. The companies would be taking from the workers instead of giving or at least maintaining what workers already have.
Even company workers and non-union members benefit from the mere presence of unions. And yes, unfortunately, even do the SCABS!

It’s been very quite. Even people that Inwould think would know something aren’t saying one way or another how it’s going

Quite quiet.
Will go past the deadline (always does). Lots of locals fighting over insurance. Money has been decided.

I was at a site where we brought in non union TAR contractors....those good ole safe union operators were spinning the wing nuts on the scaffold ladders at night to hurt someone...screw the unions

I kind of find that hard to believe, but I wouldn't put anything past these guys.
I did hear of a turnaround that was ongoing during a strike and people were pretty amazed at how efficient the work went and how much better the "fill-ins" were than the union guys.

No, it is true. We told them we installed cameras to catch them, but we couldn't really install cameras because of language in the agreement with the union.

Have they come to an agreement?

Didn’t the last strike leave your representatives worse off than before and didn’t they not want to go on strike but your union leadership demanded it
My view on unions isn't overly favorable.

Hearing an agreement has been reached

Now the local issues must be worked out. Still some hurdles but more than likely an extension will be granted.
Posted on 1/31/19 at 6:26 pm to Teauxler
Nah. I think the local issues were agreed on first
