Hawaiians are some of the most racist people, particularly towards whites, that you'll ever run across

Imagine living in a tropical paradise like Hawaii and you wouldn't want any foreigners coming over and ruining things, now would you?
I have family that moved to Maui early on when COVID started. We went over for a week in 2021. Every other person we met on the beach had moved recently from California.
*** Think if you lived on an island and you had a big influx of California invasion. I kind of understand why they want to kick most of the whites out.

but I understand what it is like when you walk into a room and you’re the one person of a different color and people treat you slightly different because of it.
Have gone to a number of places in NOLA East pre-Katrina and had the same treatment.

My experience was different

I was a white guy working in Angola on a three year visa. Lasted a year, and was flat told that I got let go early because there was an Angolan that wanted the job. I wasn't native to their country so I got canned. And I harbor no resentment, and don't disagree with the reason. The oil there is their Countries resource, it should go to their citizens pockets. I wish the US felt the same way.

Hawaii would be perfect if not for the Hawaiians that live there and all the Californians that visit.

I'll take the Caribbean over Hawaii any day.
i also prefer the caribbean. but, there is a lot of crime in the caribbean, even the virgin islands (american or british). savage pirates also patrol the waters surrounding the islands and speciallize in kidnapping (leading to human trafficing) and rape and murder.
much of the world is an evil place. the history of the caribbean reveals why there is still much resentment and hate generations after most of them won their freedom.

Jesus f Christmas you sound weak AF. This isn’t 1960 dude.
This is literally a thread talking about local Hawaiians beating up on a white guy. I mention the racism is noticeable with some people there and I am weak?

Fun fact: the US Marines helped overthrow the Queen ruling the islands back in the early 1900s or late 1800s. That established the US control over there.

Pfft. They'd likely still be living like the natives on Gilligan's Island if it weren't for those "stupid mainlanders". Apparently these two act like they still are.

This has been my experience with most Asians and people living in the Pacific. With Vietnamese and Filipino people standing out the most in my mind. Some Indians too.

same, exception is Japan, they're almost too nice and respectful, I always imagine that after they bow and are so friendly and helpful they are reaching for a Samurai sword that they keep behind their back

quote:there's something very funny to me about their caste system and how they even live by it over here (many will deny this, but it's true)... but even the richest, most successful, highest caste indians are still seen as absolute dorks and can't even frick a basic 7.0 middle class white girl.
Some Indians too.

I was looking at a house in Springfield area of Jacksonville 2003/4
Standing in front of the house, talking to my contractors and 3 neighborhood residents showed up and advised that they would burn the house down before letting a white dude live there. Residents also threw rocks at us as we drove off My contractors decided they didn't want the work. Deal fell through...
