I know you won't admit it, but deep down you know that he's right. The only reason these women weren't disciplined is because they were black women.

And you know this how?
Obviously you have the internet, try and google white power or nazi salute in the news section and you read about arrest, yet the black power has nothing but love and respect for how bold they are
Posted on 5/10/16 at 11:02 pm to LSUTANGERINE
The modern kkk and black panther party are on par with one another. Would you agree?

I don't care what they do, what I do care about is if the same thing happened by white girls giving the the "white power" salute they would be burned. It's a hypocrisy and you have yet to admit it.
You mean the KKK and Nazi salute? You're right. But as noted before by several others those two salutes are not even in the same ballpark
Posted on 5/10/16 at 11:03 pm to LSUTANGERINE
You said even simply saying White Power wouldn't be the same. Which makes no sense
Posted on 5/10/16 at 11:03 pm to LSUTANGERINE
So we dole out punishment on the degree of racism now?

I really can't believe people are actually equating a raised closed fist to KKK symbols lol. Let me break it down for you morons.
The fact that the term "Black Power" and the symbol has no negative connotations is basically because it wasn't used to segregate not demean any person non black. It was a self-affirmation tool used at a time when the very idea of being black was demeaned and looked at with disgust. It was a symbol of pride of our self worth.
"White Power" is a slogan used by terrorist groups. Groups that held the belief that being white meant lording power over all. Whether you believe that is true or not, that's how it was used. so thank your ancestors or grannies and grandpas for that one
It doesn't matter what it means.
They're all still political signs at the end of the day and should not be conducted by military officers in uniform.
If these ladies wanted to take this pic and not get in trouble for it, all they had to do was wear civvies and do it in a civilian location, like the gates to West Point.

If you have to make a statement like this. You're probably racist.

You noted this, that is your/others OPINION. While you think highly of YOUR opinion, maybe realize that other people don't. Both are signs of power towards a race and should not be shown by or on a government run military facility.

Here we go with the normal woe is me on the OT the poor conservative white male. Black people have it sooo good they can get away with things I can't.
This is a prime example of that.

And why are they incompetent dipshits? Because of one picture? Im sure being women or black has nothing to do with your assessment.
Yes, because of one picture. These people are supposed to be the best of the best and they pull this bullshite. It's complete and blatant incompetence. These people are supposed to command soldiers and keep them from sparking international incidents yet they take a picture that flies against the principals that were supposed to be instilled in them over the last 4 years. Keep being willfully obtuse. It's entertaining to watch you show your arse on a public forum.

Someone said the black cadets aren't that bad because at least they aren't on welfare and killing people
Geauxitigers said he will hold them to the standard of officers and not ghetto trash. He said race should not play a factor
Yet, geauxtigers is the racist one
Go figure

Threads like this remind me how civilians just completely forget that the military has completely different rules than civilian life and service members whether enlisted or officers, have less rights and due process than american civilians and are not supposed to be political and that is by design because it isn't supposed to be some big kumbaya organization but rather an institution dedicated to killing and destroying America's enemies.

Have you never posed for photos before? That's how those things happen. They don't all spontaneously do the same thing. That was a poor word choice. But it can happen with 15 seconds of planning.
Posted on 5/10/16 at 11:15 pm to GeauxxxTigers23
It is true, any other officer group graduating from West Point would have been destroyed if they took a picture displaying pride in their race.
That these civilians in the thread do not understand that only highlights their ignorance.

I honestly don't think so. Could I foresee a similar situation that the decision makers contemplated punishment based on letter of the law (though perhaps not the spirit) and decided against it because it just wasn't worth the potential negative backlash? Sure, but I don't think that's what happened. And even if it did I'm not sure I'd care.
Not receiving proper discipline happens all the time, mostly when it comes to the rich and powerfully connected (and yes even being white helps).
I just think it's a silly lack of perspective to complain that a group of cadets potentially got away with something just because they were black!
How often in history did blacks receive punishment or prejudice because they were black and how often did someone receive benefit because they were white?
So again what are we doing here then? Complaining that black people are getting special treatment in the military? Give me a fricking break man.

Which means pre-planned.
Your mental gymnastics to defend this garbage is entertaining. I get it. Black folks can do no wrong in your eyes.
Also, I've never been so irresponsible as to pose for work photos in such a way.

Irrelevant. This is the US Army, not the ACLU. That I have to explain this to you is pretty pathetic.

You have no idea how much perspective you lack on this subject.

What the frick does that have to do with anything? Nothing, unless you're a racist of course.

I'm saying black women get special treatment in the military. Actually all women do. And for the most part they make shitty soldiers. Women get special treatment because no officer even wants to deal with the headache of an equal opportunity complaint from a women, and even fewer want anything to do with an EO complaint from a black female. Those are facts whether you like them or not.
