I really can't believe people are actually equating a raised closed fist to KKK symbols lol. Let me break it down for you morons.
The fact that the term "Black Power" and the symbol has no negative connotations is basically because it wasn't used to segregate not demean any person non black. It was a self-affirmation tool used at a time when the very idea of being black was demeaned and looked at with disgust. It was a symbol of pride of our self worth.
"White Power" is a slogan used by terrorist groups. Groups that held the belief that being white meant lording power over all. Whether you believe that is true or not, that's how it was used. so thank your ancestors or grannies and grandpas for that one
All this bullshite you just said is completely subjective and I no way based in modern reality. Sorry you wasted your time.

You are no longer black. You are no longer female. You are no longer a democrat. You are no longer a republican.
You are an Officer in the United States Army
How some don't grasp this is mind numbing to me
Just like we are all Americans or humans or Earthlings....right?

Who the frick cares!? God y'all are such whiny bitches. The OT complains that SJWs always find innocuous things to be offended by but crys just as much. So several black women graduated from a place that historically many blacks have not been accepted. And with a raised fist they show soidarity and referece the past and present struggle of civil rights. Now a bunch of redneck mouth breathers have their panties in a bunch.
And this too. Very well said

Evidently this is a spot that graduating cadets traditionally take photos. All kinds of them every year. Black female cadets got together to take a photo and spontaneously decided to take one photo (out of many) with raised fists. What's so hard to believe about that?

It is utter bullshite. The Black Powet fist has been used by "terrorist" groups similar to the kkk
Posted on 5/10/16 at 10:44 pm to upgrayedd
Geez man, they said it wasn't a pre-planned political statement. The key word being political not pre-planned. Obviously the photo and fist raising was preplanned.
I feel like some of you take moron pills.

Yes, we all know that David Duke was all about self affirmation. Right? Lol

So are you really saying the black power fist isnt used by extremely racist groups similar to the KKK?

Honestly the fact that they purposely segregated themselves by race and gender proves they learned nothing at West Point and have no business being officers. I know you can't possibly understand why that it is but trust me, I'm right.

If they didn't realize it was political then they aren't very intelligent.

No I am not saying that. But not even close to the extent that white power has been used as noted above by myself and Others. Come on. Get a grip.

How are you this delusional?
Please inform me of all the black terror organizations in American history that are on par with the KKK. Please name one that had similar prevalence, scope and power throughout American history.

No, you get a grip. The past is the past. When I hear White Power I think of a white person segregating themself based on race. When I hear Black Power I think of a black person wanting to segregate themself based on race

So a group of white males from the same fraternity organization across the nation decide to get together and take a picture and the same holds true? I think not . And no, before you get all bent out of shape, I am not comparing the black power salute to a fraternity.

So since the black power symbol is just a little racist terroristic and white power symbol is a whole lot racist and terroristic we can accept the black power symbol as no big deal?
Posted on 5/10/16 at 10:50 pm to Charlie Arglist
This isn't a big deal ffs. You guys are the southern version of sjws with all your BS.
Posted on 5/10/16 at 10:50 pm to fouldeliverer
The black panther party is widely known for using the black power fist. I would venture to say most people associate the fist with them
Are there crimes as extensive as the kkk? Absolutely not
Are they just as racist and bigoted? Absolutely yes

WTF are you talking about? You really don't get it do you? Nobody is talking about frat boys. We're talking about people who are about to be officers in the Army, not kids who are going to work at their daddy's law firm.
