“Good thing raccoons, opossums, squirrels, foxes, bobcats, black bears, skunks, and armadillos know how to read.”

You really do not understand how destructive dog urine is? Especially since they tend to go on the same spot..
I have read female dogs are worse .. and specific to the dogs diet and system.. I have two little dogs… I gave up on a backyard.. tried everything.. clay additive .. kept a pot of water and washed the spot after.. one dogs is so strong it kills the jasmine and ivy around my trees.. part of my yard is gravel and pavers and I have to always try to get them to go there.

The other reason to curb your dog:

where one dog marks his territory, every other dog that passes will try to overprint with his own scent.

In Houston, you could tell the age of a mailbox on a metal pole by the amount of rust (and the size of the neighborhood dogs by the height of the rust.

I’ve thought about this.

Nobody picks up after their dog anymore. Can’t go for a walk without seeing dog shite everywhere.

I’ve decided when I become a dictator, I am banning ownership of dogs.

I've owned a house for nearly 40 years now. I'm trying to think back about the time I got pissed off because a dog pee'd or pooped in my yard.

So far, I got nothing.

Good thing USPS essentially banned individual mail boxes.

But seriously, how damaged is y'alls grass to turn yellow from a dog pissing on it twice a day? Never had a urine burn spot in my yard in over ten years, letting multiple dogs (including 90 pounders) out in my backyard. Front yard, never, but I didn't live in a trashy arse hood.

What’s the suggestion? We can’t walk dogs? I can’t stop my dog from peeing

Simple. Let him pee in your own yard. I have a dog and we never let him go anywhere but our yard.

I'm just telling you why people don't want dogs pissing in the yards...because it kills grass. Furthermore have your dog go piss in your own grass if it's no big deal.

It takes quite a bit to get there

And seeing these folks on nextdoor and the like I see more posts about it being gross or germs than dead grass

Their yard their rules.

i think its a little silly. The amount of dog piss from random encounters isnt going to hurt your yard and if they pick up poop you wouldnt even know.

regardless i avoid yards with signs best i can. If my pooch passes by one and starts shitting, im not going to pick his 90 lbs up and move him though. i'll pick up the poop and you can just get over it.

How about not allowing your dog to tresspass onto others property. Keep it on a leash and on the sidewalk or street. It can do its business on the sidewalk or in the street. I choose not to own a dog, and therefore I don't want one peeing or shite-ing on my lawn.

I seem to recall you could buy a certain kind of rock to put in their water bowl to prevent this. Not sure if it works or non, so anybody used them please enlighten us.

Why do people put up those signs all over their yard saying "No Poop/Pee"? I could certainly understand the frustration if people don't clean up after their dog, and I've even heard people explain they have kids and don't want them running around in grass that may have remnants of dog poop that weren't picked up all the way....but pee?

We are OUTSIDE. Even if you didn't have dogs peeing in your yard on occasion, what about wild animals and unrestrained pets that definitely are peeing there and not adhering to your dumb sign?

Their property, their rules. You don't need to know their logic behind it.

I have boxwoods lining the walkway which goes all the way to the street. Dog piss kills the plants, had to replace the last couple plants many times.

Kinda want a no pee sign but been too lazy to buy one.
