They sold tons of those little Nissan compact trucks they used to make. But thank your friendly neighborhood government bureaucrat and their safety guidelines for that.

A compact pickup would have probably saved Mitsubishi in the US.

They used to make one that was reasonably popular. But it was extremely slow and probably dangerous even for its time.

Today overseas markets gets both the Mitsubishi and Mazda compact/mid sized trucks.

Maybe they can go back to making a true compact pickup truck

Every so often, I see a little Datsun pickup on the road and it makes me happy

I have a 2018 4x4. They come from the factory with longer warranties than any other truck. Only paid $28k for it. Nothing has broken on it in 5 years.

Toyotas are not “made” in Texas, they are “put together “ in Texas.

I think part of the problem is Nissan's dealers. If you walk into a Ford or Chevy dealer, its trucks trucks trucks and that's what they cater towards and are the most knowledgeable on. The trucks are going to be up front and there will be at least one in the showroom.

Nissan's dealers cater to the Altima crowd, as they should I guess. The trucks are off to the side and the sales guys don't seem to know a ton about them.

Where the F is all of this supposed demand for electric vehicles? I’m up in MA., and I see neither the demand, nor the $$$ for them???

What am I missing here?

It's 100 degrees and if you drove an electric vehicle it would be 85. The government says so.

I am a Datsun / Nissan truck fan.
Use to run my 4x4 trucks in the desert off road. Nissan, did a great job with the hardbody in the 80’s and early 90’s for that application.
I had
720 Datsun
A few Hardbody’s
A few Pro X 4x4’s Frontiers

Full-size
Did have 4 full-size Titans before I retired. My friend was a sales manager for a Nissan dealer.
The only truck I had issues with was the diesel model.
The rest of the trucks were affordable with a bigger engine than std 5.3 GM or 5.0 Ford V8.
They drink gas, but never really went to service except for wear and tear items like brakes.
1 truck changed the u-joints at 275,000 miles and brakes every 75,000 to 100,000 miles on the front.

Just don’t have a need for a full-size anymore. The Frontier at this time fits my need better.

The Titan is a damned fine truck, especially in terms of value. My 2017 Titan has about 95,000 miles has never given me a lick of trouble, and cost literally half what a similarly trimmed Tundra, Sierra, or F150 would have cost.

Nissan’s small pickups in the 90s were such great looking trucks. Wish you could still get these.

I had a Nissan hardbody in the 90s in college. It was a solid little truck

My son still runs my 80’s era Nissan hardbody 4x4 as a farm truck on his farm.

It has been lifted and a few other mods on it.

The AC was fixed, new seats, and the oem AM/FM cassette player still works.

I wish I could have kept a couple of my old vehicles but it just wasn't feasible at the time. I'd love to have my 81 Sierra again.

There's not any money for it and demand is negligible. And if you actually care about the environment then EVs are terrible for that. They are far heavier than gas vehicles leading to road damage and rubber dust in the air as well as more frequent tire changes. The lithium and cobalt used in the batteries are mined using strip mines. The whole EV thing to save the environment is complete bullshite in actuality.

Most truck sales are doing well. Surprised Titan couldn’t keep up. Probably the Nissan name holding it back

If you have to ask we don’t consider Texas southern unless you’re talking East Texas.
