Mine is clicking over 193,000 probably today

It’s not luxury but it’s been no issues the entire time . And it’s paid off so I’m running it til it blows up

There is a large market for simple mid sized trucks and SUVs. Body on frame, reliable NA V6, a real transfer case and, dare I say, 3 pedals. Throw a decent sized screen with care play in it and you will attract a portion of males in all generations.

The Frontier hits all those minus a standard transmission. I just bought a 2025 Frontier. It looks good, has old school interior with knob and buttons, it’s pretty fast with the 3.8 V6 and much cheaper than an equivalent Toyota.

The hardbody and the original frontiers with 4 cylinders and 5 speed manuals were little tanks that got good mpg. It's absolutely stupid that they made them mid size...which is actually what a full size truck was in the 90s.

Nah full size trucks in the 90s were full size. They just sat a little lower with smaller tires.

Their cars are great. Pretty solid vehicles but they just can not figure out how to make a great SUV or truck.

Nothing have had in those categories has been super popular or looked all that great

I don’t own the Ram. It’s a company vehicle.

Eta I work in O&G and my wife also works for now.

There were rumors a few years back about the Xterra coming back in either 21 or 22, but it never happened. I still have my 03 Xterra and love it. I hope they bring it back.

I've got a 97 f150 and it's right at the same size as a new mid size frontier. The old hardbodies and first generation frontiers were true compact trucks. I use to get close to 30 mpg with my little frontier. It's a shame they don't make them anymore. I drove a 2024 gmc 2500 recently on a long trip and it was huge, way more truck than I need.

As another poster mentioned the CAFE standards killed the compact trucks. Compact trucks are counted as cars with the fleet fuel economy standards so automakers have made them increasingly larger as certain wheelbases have much more lax fuel economy requirements.

They have everything they need to do this already.

If they do it right, I might be interested. They probably do it on the cheap though, so I'll be in the market for a landcruiser.

Count how many you see tomorrow's on the road vs 2015 or earlier 4runners.

I see more pre 2006 Tahoes on the road….

You can use the bandages after you skin your hands up to keep it running.

I had a 99 4th Gen maxima. Installed a stillen supercharger along with several other upgrades and it was a fun/reliable car. I put 250k miles on it with a damn blower and it still ran perfectly when I sold it.

The next generation they got the cvt...and you never see them on the road anymore. I see way more of the older maximas than I do the 5th generation.

If it wasn't for the government imposed economy and safety standards we could have some epic modern cars with superb reliability.

Those old 6s rivaled BMWs 6s for durability and bottom-end strength.

Great engines.

This isnt rocket science yall. You’d think it would be a no-brainer to produce a competitive, body on frame suv to compete with the 4Runners, Broncos & Wranglers, instead of the tarted-up cuv rogue & pathfinder garbage. Xterra was really cool & unique when it first entered the market in the late 90’s, but like everything Nissan….it got stale.

Nissan is doing so poorly that the roads are covered by Rogues, including ours

The vq40 is easily in the top five for most reliable passenger vehicle engines of all time.

I would be hard pressed to name three which are more reliable.
