The non-telescoping steering wheel may be an issue. I'm going to go sit in one tomorrow when I get home tomorrow likely. I'm tall, so that caught my attention.

No lie told. Drives like a boat almost. I don’t hate them though but it’s not a great driving midsize.

I sell them. Great little truck. Find a 23 model though and you'll save even more due to dealer holdback. Interest rates are great through Nissan. 2.9-5.9%. Toyota isn't moving on price due to inventory and Nissan has the opposite problem. You'll get a lot more for your money compared to a Tacoma. Turning radius is the only issue.

Do you see Nissan prices falling after tax season is done?

Inventory is high on pathfinders and still over priced.

Do NOT buy a white Frontier,or any white Nissan period. Their white paint for some reason doesn't stick to the primer. You will have peeling paint in a few years if you do.

But no, you don't actually need to buy a vehicle this week
Yes, I actually do. I have no vehicle as my last was totaled out by an uninsured driver. Spent the last three months dealing with that, now it's time to buy. Nissan prices are really good right now compared to the other midsizes.

Do is the hatred for Nissan trucks due to their shacking up Renault?

I thought they’d cleaned up their act?

I have a 2018(got it for $7000) and it’s easily the worst turning radius I’ve ever seen

Rented one when I went to Houston. It was a '23 though. I liked it. More than enough power for what it is and the engine never strained. Interior is a little outdated for the competition, but the exterior looks good to me.

I would strongly consider it.

Have a 23' P4X that I got in December of 22'. First piece of advice is to consult ClubFrontier for any insight. Very thorough group of enthusiasts over there, especially for anything negative re: the 3rd Gen iteration.

If you pull the trigger I recommend doing the breather mod on the rear diff. The stock one is a piece of shite and your seals will eventually blow if you keep it. It's not a question of IF but WHEN.

There was also a recent TSB for transmission software. Make sure you flash that as it helps with the cruise control, which causes the truck to hit high RPMs on the slightest amount of incline.

Lastly, budget a few bucks for new tires. The Hankook AT2s are garbage. Seriously, they're slicker than owl shite and have no traction - in my experience.

Those are the only negatives that I have, as an owner. The turning radius isn't an anomaly with these trucks. It's well known and definitely a shortcoming, but not a deal killer. The truck looks sharp and performs well. I'm happy with my purchase and I recommend it, if you're inclined. I bought the extended warranty and plan on keeping it for a long time.

I have a 2019 Frontier that I've owned for just under a year and so far I'm happy with it. It pulls my 17 ft RV pretty easily and isn't too bad on gas mileage. So far so good

I had an 05 that I took to 110k, and other than tires and oil, spent probably $1200 on maintenance. The interior was plastic AF.

The money that should have been used on the interior went into Carlos' pocket instead.

Aged out truck, terrible ergonomics, decent engine.

OP, it's cheap for a reason.

The current Tacoma is about the same size as a 2006 Tundra

People forget how small trucks used to be.

I remember driving a late 90s S-10 on the farm as a young teen. It had a 4.3L and would haul arse

I test drove one, they had a little more room and a few more safety features than the Canyons. My son rathered the Canyon so we got that. Don't sleep on the GM turbo 4. It's a good engine with plenty enough power. My son pulls my 22' Skeeter Bay Boat with no problem.

I would never buy a mid size truck. Seems useless.

I owned a couple of the early Tundras which were considered mid-size. They punched well above their class. I towed fuel and fertilizer trailers with them just like I did with 3/4 ton trucks. Just not quite as fast.

I've owned a 2005, 2008, and 2012 frontier over the years.

It's a fantastic truck and very reliable. I agree it is dated, and turns like a battleship. The VQ engine is bulletproof, tons of power, it tows well, it rides well.

I tried twice to compare it to a Tacoma and I came away feeling that the Tacoma was underpowered, cheaper built, and "loose" feeling. May have been my preference but it drives more sporty than the Tacoma.

I took all to 100k and never had a repair bill, routine maintenance only.

I've got one, it's a 22. The towing capacity is good, I like that. Acceleration is a little sluggish. Steering is a little soft and sometimes it shifts harsh. Also, the touch screen isn't very intuitive. I've got 30,000 miles on it though and it's been perfectly reliable.

It's the third Nissan pick up I've owned and I don't regret buying it.
