The band escaped through a back exit. In fact, I thought I read that many patrons would have been saved using a back exit, but herd panic set in and they all rushed toward the same one.

A little foreshadowing in the video that night.

He may have gotten out alive, but with that many flames on him, I suspect that he probably died shortly afterward. If he did somehow survive long-term though, then he had to have been heavily maimed, I would think--the smoke from the stage area in the back of the club was already blowing through the audience area and reaching to the front entrance around the 1:25 mark in the video, and he got out exactly 5 minutes after that. Therefore, he must have inhaled a ton of smoke in addition to having the bulk of his body covered in flames.

People are extremely stupid. What's better than paying security guards? Chaining a door.

Even so, when the fire starts, where do you run? The only way you know-the door you came into. That's what everyone did.

No, that was another one. Cocoanut Grove in Boston was the deadliest.

It's shitty how that went down, but there are many more gut wrenching videos on the Internet. I've seen some that will make people throw up. Definitely NSFTD though

One of the Band members did not survive. He headed to the front door for some reason. I imagine many were injured or killed just tring to get to the door.

Lets not forget the Stampede at the Who concert in Cinncinatti

The nightclub fire that just happened in Romania reminded me of this nightclub fire in Rhode Island. One of the most gut wrenching videos I have ever watched

Good God. That's one of the most horrific videos I've ever seen in my life.

Nothing will ever be as disturbing as the Dnepropetrovsk maniacs videos, which no one should ever watch. Ever.

Well I'll be sure to avoid them, but can I have some context.

No one will instinctively run TOWARDS the fire, but if they had, the chances of survival greatly increased. IIRC, there was one front entrance that everyone tried to go through and two rear doors.

Group of 3 guys in some Eastern European country that captured animals and people and would murder them brutally in the woods, and they filmed that stuff.

None of them got the death penalty, and one of them was only sentenced to 8 years. I think the other 2 guys got life.

when he goes to the back to check on those inside and all you hear are screams from within the walls.
