I’m indifferent to everything, but I call shite how I see it, BAW.

Better be careful he may tell you to kill yourself, and then spend a half hour showing you how stupid he is.

I don’t think he’s doing that anymore

Keep racking up pointless posts. You may hit 60k before Easter.

What a weird thread for this guy to lose it and start shite posting in. I'm pretty sure he burned two alters as well. I'm always surprised to see someone randomly come unglued like this.

Dark cloths do make a big difference.

Or reflectors, or flashing lights

It said the guy today was riding at 6:30 am. Light is peeking through at that point. I know because I live close to Lafayette and was on my way to work at that hour.
Ummm visibility is the lowest at dawn and dusk so 6:30 with the "sun peaking through" would be worse than pitch black at 3:00 am.

Two weeks ago I was driving at night on Hwy 165. I was paying attention, driving normally (defensively) and I passed a man in black clothing walking maybe a half foot off the right lane. Didn't see him till he was right next to the car, if he'd stepped half a step to the left he'd been hit.
I guess people are just oblivious, idk. Dark night, dressed in all black, walking next to a road where the speed limit is 55-65. dang
I don't know about the above situation. if the bicyclist didn't have reflectors or lights I just don't see how you can blame the driver.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.. it’s actually harder to see at that time.
Around here it’s like everybody with dark grey cars conspire to turn their headlights off at 6:30 AM. shite drives me insane because they’re really hard to see and can sneak up on you. Much less a dude in a bike.

and I can tell you, for fact, people don’t give a frick if you have on reflective clothing, lights on your rig, etc… they will still try to frick your shite up with a vehicle.
Oh, I don't doubt that there are shitty drivers out there. No doubt many are texting and driving. But as a bicyclist you too have to follow lighting laws and you too should use some damn common sense and help yourself be seen. At the end if the day, it will be your arse laid out in the ditch.

so no curve, no hill, no overhangs, no roadside obstructions.
Clear skies? Sun is at least partially up, assuming the time is just an estimate.
I'm leaning toward distracted driver unless the cyclist merged / swerved out into the middle of the lane unexpectedly.
Tragic.

I've seen people riding at night with no lights down the center lanes of both South College and Kaliste Saloom. A lot of the time though it isn't "cyclists" and more so poor people using their only form of transportation. I use bright lights at night.
I see it often too on South College. As someone who rides for exercise, I avoid that stretch as there are no sidewalks or shoulders on most of the stretch between Johnston and West Bayou. There are other ways to get around that area without riding down the middle of South College

I was out of town last week (so unfamiliar roads), going through an intersection at around 6:15AM.
I had the green, but a guy on a bike, in dark clothes, decides he was gonna cross in front of me.
I'm watching the road, not distracted at all.
I'm going relatively slow, as I'm looking for a turn.
Still, it was close.
Stupid m'fer.

In NY, dark clothes in the winter are seemingly mandatory. It's dangerous with so many pedestrians walking around among so much traffic.

I'm all fine with sharing the road with bikers, but laws need to be in place requiring certain safety features for bikers when it's dark. Some blame does need to be on the biker, if in fact there were no reflective materials and/or lights on the bike. That is simply being too careless for ones own safety.
