Are they even teaching history in school anymore? Holy shite! As a historian, this freaking depresses me.

I simply refuse to believe this. I’m only 26. No way was this even close to glossed over.
I know as history extends you need to fit more in but no way they’re deemphasizing the worlds last truly impactful hot war.
ETA: if they are we are fricked. That was about the last time we saw a truly clear cut battle of good and evil. Everything since then has had tons of nuance and grey to it. No doubt that the Nazis had to be stopped especially knowing what we learned as their empire crumbled.
I know as history extends you need to fit more in but no way they’re deemphasizing the worlds last truly impactful hot war.

Even thought I was only 12 at the time, I got the same bone chilling feeling at Dachau that I did when I walked the grounds of Shilo in Tennessee. I could "hear" the ghosts of the dead.
Both are in the top 3 of the creepiest/eeriest places I've visited in my 50+ years (#3 was a legit haunted house and this is coming from a scientist who believes (almost) all "supernatural phenomenon" can be explained via scientific means...)
