all people change, even subtly. but some women evolve into something that can be downright frightening.

that's cute. and ideal.

and not very realistic for the majority of marriages today.

The part about telling him how to drive hit home with me.We dated 2 years and for the first year we were married she never said anything about my driving then all of a sudden it was like I couldn’t drive without her instructions.I was shocked to tell the truth,I never saw that side of her.We have had some doozies of some arguments about it.40 years now,and she still feels the need to tell me how to drive occasionally.I blow up and she’ll quit for awhile.

I'm telling you. I need to meet my calling of creating a matchmaking service for the OT. Some of y'all have some real broken arse pickers.

I really never understood a woman's need to call randomly during the work day to talk about absolutely nothing.

The only thing relatable in that is the panicking while I'm driving.

And ole boy looks like he has no problem with his wife's burnt cooking...

one thing about women that you have to understand is that communication is incredibly value for all sorts of things

like, for instance, communication is a major avenue for stress relief

as kingbob once put it

quote:

Finally: men communicate to share information or solve problems. Women communicate to relieve stress and express intimacy.

also a good nugget from that thread

quote:

women don't argue to be right, they argue to win. They use emotion to win. They wager that you value "not hurting them" over being right.

i'm 31 and single and it sure as shite beats living like some of y'all describe and what you have to put up with.

The SO's coworker has a wife that calls him all day long over every little thing. Things are simple as what toilet paper to get when grocery shopping. It's the most bizarre thing. But he's also a massive control freak, so maybe that's where it stems from.

I don't have time to call the SO. That said, my call-during-the-work-day issue is my retired Dad and my Grandmother who have no concept of time in retirement.

if you live with another human you learn to laugh about shite. Or you go nuts.

My wife doesn't do Starbucks/Magnolia/Target or that type of middleclassfancy stuff.

That said, some of this stuff is pretty universal:

- "Suggesting" a project for them either while they're finishing one project or just coming home for work

- Venting to them about dumb stuff and/or their own work stuff while you're trying to work at work

- Choosing to continue with stress/emotional responses over rational and good willed suggestions
