Waffles and chicken question. How do you preapre the chicken? Do you just put it on the waffle? Watermelons get a bad rap.

First of all how does someone do this every year. Some bleeding heart complains and cries every time.

Second of all that meal is delicious and who would complain about that

Multiple ways. The original is just chicken wings served with waffles. On same plate not on each other. Though other places do them stacked. Some places fry chicken in a sweet bare some in a spicy. Mostly it's served with a spicy syrup or a hot honey.

The best version in my opinion is hard fried chicken tenderloins on Belgian style waffle. Though most do more of a thin waffle like waffle house.

That reminds me of the time I was talking to two cold-blooded country 'Bamas, and I said "Why y'all put salt on a watermelon?"

They said "Lemme tell you about salt, jamiegla1. See, you Washington n***as puts too MUCH salt on. They said, "You just put a *twang* of salt on a sweet melon and it brings out like accent!"

Pretty awesome but also pretty brain dead. I would tear it up though.

So blacks don’t like to be celebrated with food of their liking?

Why apologize? That sounds delicious! Perhaps next week they'll serve smothered chicken, black-eyed peas, and collared greens.

Woke white women throw a fit on social media, black people don’t care, woke Dems try to get government to ban fried chicken and watermelon as offensive and racist.

New York University cut ties with the company after it included ribs, collard greens, and Kool-Aid on a special menu for Black History Month.

That offer deserves an extension, not a firing.

I had some at a breakfast buffet last week, and it was better than any I had all summer.

Chicken and watermelon I get, but waffles? Replace the waffles with some collard greens and now you have something.

Or mashed potatoes and gravy. I'm not sure when a waffle became a good side with fried chicken but it seems like it was sometime in the past 15 years.

Regardless, how is it racist or insensitive? They're labeling it as such, without actually explaining how. This is definitely white people behind any issue with this. Everytime a label is applied to make something into something it is not, it's white liberals. Trying to make a non-issue into an issue, these are people that clearly have no actual problems in life and have this inner desire to make drama. Nothing I hate more than unnecessary drama like this.

There is an article about that on Wikipedia

quote:

Waffles served with chicken and gravy were noted as a common Sunday dish among the Pennsylvania Dutch by the 1860s

quote:

Prior to the Civil War, chicken and waffles were extravagant breakfast staples in plantation houses through much of the South, prepared by the well-trained cooks

quote:

In New York, the dish was served in the African-American community in Harlem as early as the 1930s in such locations as Tillie's Chicken Shack, Richard Wells' jazz nightclub, and particularly the Wells Supper Club. In 1935 Bunny Berigan composed a jazz instrumental titled "Chicken and Waffles"

Apparently, it's been around for a while. I think it just had a resurgence in the last 15-20 years.
