Buy a well maintained truck made before 2012. You can pilot a few thousand into fixing it up. I just couldnt live with myself paying an $800 truck note every month.

Why do that? If I am going to have to work on my everyday ride I will just start using my 1968 Jeep CJ5.

Has that little queer cyclist that is afraid of big trucks come in and told you that you don't need a truck?

I don't need a truck. I want a truck. I had a pickup in high school and college and an Explorer since I started medical school. I miss having a big gas tank and not having to stop at the gas station every 2 days. I also miss being able to carry things in the bed. You ever try to get the smell of swamp mud from a pair of waders out of the back of an SUV? It ain't easy.

Same. It's a great engine. I have gotten as high as 40 mpg over 50 miles. Average around 28-29 for a tank (I drive a lot of highway miles. I don't tow often, but every time it has done it with ease.

I have that same issue. I noticed you have to pause the car play music before you switch to Sirius. It has helped.

To the OP: I came across this video the other day of a diesel mechanic going into pretty great detail about the newest version of the 3L Duramax.

I am stepping up to a 8500-9500 pound boat. I just cant trust my 1500 Silverado to safely pull and stop that. Probably a Siverado 2500 with the gas engine. Hopefully get something 1-2 years old

I have a 2024 2500 with the gas engine. It pulls my 36 ft enclosed race car hauler with ease. I would recommend you at least buy a 2024 because they have the 10 speed transmission and not 6 speed of previous years. I will tell you the gas mileage is not great at all.

I have the 2024 F150 hybrid power boost V6. Only had it for about 3 weeks and so far so good. You can’t hear it start up since it is the electric start and several times I have walked away from the truck and not realizing it’s still running since it is the push button start and shut off. You just don’t hear the damn thing running. Avg 23 mpg just stated.

I really like the Toyota Tundra but the stories that I am hearing about motor recall is making me nervous about dropping close to $80,000 on one

I have the new Tundra and love it. I dodged the recall because I have the hybrid version. The extra power of the hybrid is pretty legit.

Those that had the motor issues, Toyota is making it right. People are being out of a truck for a while but at least they are fixing the issue.

If you're getting a new one, all the trucks on lots right now were made after the recall date so it really isn't a worry. Unless other stuff goes wrong obviously.

I have a 2022 GMC 3.0. I love it and have had zero issues with it. It has over 60K miles and only at the dealer for oil changes. I would buy another in a second.

The only thing I would say about them is the timing chain has to be replaced at 150K miles and to do that you have to disconnect the transmission. Dealer quotes about 1500 for the job.

One thing I dont like is CarPlay does not use the whole horizontal screen, but the google version does.

Nissan canceling the Titan instead of updating it....that's a huge mistake.

With Ford F-150, silverado and Sierra, and Tundra. Not enough profitable marketshare. So new focus on Frontier with V6 competing against the new Turbo 4cyl Tacomas.

You didn't hear that Ford is recalling some of their trucks because the motors are blowing up? Or that they are spending billions on warranty work and still not fixing the problems?

GM transmissions are good for about 60-70k before they blow up.

Ram, well, it's a Dodge. worst resale value truck on the road and the reliability reports aren't great either.
