Incompetent government officials makes asinine decisions like this all the time. The difference here is it's on full display. It's just a bunch of people who never started a business or accomplished anything in life telling other people how to run their lives.

How are they going to insure that people are honest about their name. Hell, I've used fake names in the past just because and it didn't mean a damn thing. Yep, if asked, my name is John Bell.

Pretty sure a private business could require everyone to wear a green shirt in order to patronize their business if they wanted to.
