It can change and I sure as hell hope it will. It's not a quick fix though like so many tards think. Some think that just by electing a good mayor, all things are fixed.
Nola has been a tough area since it's inception. Despite the recent news spike that has the rednecks hard, it's not even near the worst it's ever been.
Nola is a democrat run city and has a majority dem voter base and you can look around the country to see that these kind of cities don't do well. I really had felt for a few years now that the gentrification and all of the money flowing in would really change things. It kind of has, but the low end scum are like cock roaches in that they won't leave and continue to breed animals. Lot's of good has happened and we see hope. We see young education people moving in. Condos and apartment being built and mostly sold. Lot's of neighborhoods changing, but the cock roaches are still there doing there thing. And the mayor still there doing nothing.
It can still happen, but it's hard to feel optimistic about it. Our state is a shite hole and is getting worse.

Free cruises that serve and purple drink and fried chicken.
One way trips back to the homeland.

Not without stomping on civil liberties.

It is true that the murder rate isn't close to what it was at its peak in the 90s. However, we are working our way to getting back there when you look at it on a per 100,000 basis.
I am passionate about this because I live in this city and it is a pretty uneasy feeling seeing the never ending stream of videos of violent crime and people breaking in and stealing cars left in right just down the street from where I live with my 3 kids. In fact a car was stolen just this afternoon 3 blocks from my house in Lakeview.

How about we stop coddling these women who open their legs and have 6 kids with 5 different men before the age of 24? That's the real issue. Nearly 4/5 black babies are born to a single mother home, and that's assuming grandma isn't taking control. Instead of addressing this horribly damning statistic, and relaying consequences of this bad behavior to the masses, the media and pols kick the can down to the road to "failing" schools, which serve as minor league prison, or to the "mean" cops who accost good baws who dindu nuffin. In short, you can't actually fix this problem, either you have an aggressive police force who contains it or you have gentrification and move it. New Orleans doesn't have the former and the latter will probably never completely happen in Orleans Parish.

Enforce the law
Stop subsidizing criminals

Nothing's changing anytime soon. The LSP tried to pull a guy over for a stolen license plate which led to a car chase and crash. The passenger and small child died both not wearing seat belts and the driver committed suicide at the scene. The great grandmother was on the news tonight pissed at the police with a lawsuit incoming. These people don't think they're doing anything wrong and now it's cool to hate cops because of the BLM shite. They'll remain unlawful assholes as long as they're allowed.

If you start investigating crimes, solving them, sentencing them, and not letting them out until they've served their time, crime will decrease. The problem is that 90%+ of the crime in NOLA goes unsolved. Odds are in the criminal's favor that they can get away with any crime.
Under funded police force and DA office is the reason why 90% of these crimes are unsolved.

And this goes all the way up to the federal government all the way to the big dog. The keeping the blacks on the plantation is exactly why our inner cities look like they do. Keep them votes coming in and the Feds will keep cutting that check as long as the voting bloc isn't changed.
HANO is federally funded and cuts the checks locally for section 8.
FoodStamps are reimbursed 100% by the Feds.
The list goes on and on and on

Welfare
Disability
Medicaid
Section 8
If you know how to game the system everything that is essential can be paid for using government dollars. I think if people REALLY knew the black male unemployment rate in this country, it would be declared a national crisis. I'd bet my left nut in New Orleans, it is easily over 70-75%. And by unemployment, I mean able bodied folk who are not in the workforce, not the phony statistic showing those looking for work, which in New Orleans is retarded because there are probably thousands of open service industry jobs.

Yea I just watched the interview with the grandmother and it's a perfect display of not accepting responsibility. She actually thinks the police are at fault. That is so freakin dumb. Call the loser father out because ALL of it is on him. Just the fact that he has a 2 year old completely unrestrained in a car is amazing.

Yes, deploy the national guard with humvees and 50 Cal's through the ghetto and downtown. Take no prisoners

Did she mention the car her son was driving was involved in a string of burglaries in the metro area? Betcha she doesn't

This is the best way to clean up NOLA. Treat it like fricking Baghdad and cull the herd.
