Man, y’all gonna love this
Her quotes in this article are the ramblings of a person completely out of touch with reality. Election cannot come soon enough.

Her PR team either owns the Tribune or paid them handsomely. Also of note, the New Orleans Tribune is not a well known or sought after publication

quote:
”That has been a part of the fabric, Cantrell candidly says. “It’s not fair, and it doesn’t feel good. I don’t think it’s deserving. I think if I were a man, I would have a statue by now based on what we have been able to do. But a lot of the things go unacknowledged simply because I am a woman and I am Black. The decisions I have had to make haven’t been popular, but are necessary. It’s almost like you have to fight the same battles even though you have demonstrated that you can make sound decisions. Still, every decision you make is always scrutinized. I even feel the pressure; it is like it comes harder from White men. It’s unacceptable. It really is.”
quote:
When asked if she saw the recent failure of the three-part millage as a referendum on her as mayor, Cantrell says, “no”. Instead, she sees it as a sign—one that Black New Orleanians must also recognize, she says. “What I do is I look at the numbers. It is very important we do that. When you look at who voted for it, the majority of African-Americans did. When you look at who stood to gain the most, it is African-Americans in this community. So you had a shift where Black folk didn’t turn out like we thought they would have based on the polling, based on the outreach and all that. And then you had something contentious on there with the library. So, turnout was low. Black folks voted for it. The White community did not, and what that means to me is that Black folk really need to stand up (for the things that their communities need).”

I realize that is the likely reality, but there is certainly growing sentiment in the city against her even amongst progressives. Just need someone decent to oppose her and that’s the biggest challenge.

Does she know the majority of her constituency is black? Doesn’t seem like it.

Well, if there is a single person, outside of JBE, that is a perfect representation of the year 2020....it is that slimy cocksucker.

She knows what she is doing. She never takes interviews with WWL but hops on the black stations all the time. She panders to her group and they eat it up.

The progressives will vote for her without question.
Progressives aren't really feeling her more than any other Democrats.
She isn't exactly progressive compared to others who will run.

The old money elites who haven’t been relevant since the 1970s are going to take her down!
