It is a Black newspaper/website published by the felon, former school board member and current Orleans Parish coroner Dwight Mckenna.

The type of people who voted for her don't share the same concerns as your average middle class voter. I guess if a strong black Democrat candidate emerged she could be ousted but it's very unlikely.

I felt the same way about Broome and Orleans Parish is a decent amount further to the left than EBRP.

Progressives aren't really feeling her more than any other Democrats.

My barometer for these things is usually the New Orleans subreddit and most posters there are fed up with her.

Like I said, a worthy challenger is the biggest issue. No sane person will want to inherit a financially broke New Orleans on the tail end of Covid with a crumbling infrastructure. Might as well let Latoya add that all to her legacy.

To beat LaToya the local DNC apparatus would have to completely dump her which wouldn’t happen. The liberal restaurant and bar owners fully back her despite looming bankruptcy.

The next mayor will be more likely a war profiteer than an actual political leader who wants to fix what's broken.
