So is this thing going to be broadcast live? Are we going to be able to see the renderings shortly thereafter?

Does anyone really think this will be done for only $826M? This is Louisiana we're talking about.
I'm thinking $1.5B.

You would think a major announcement like this would be covered live. I mean...when the Pelicans hold a press conference for a backup SG its streamed live.
I researched this Cesar Pelli. He's done some big time work.

Yeah I'm home now and had it on the Soaps waiting for the live feed.
Nothing but a commercial saying to wait for noon.
So I went to WDSU as I can deal with gameshows in the background better than stale acting.

Mr knowledge has entered the thread folks.

renderings show new airport wil serve 747s and 380's. That is big.
trying to get pics.
Will be a futuristic glass airport designed by an Argentinian architect.
Much more curvy than the renderings, and they showed off a row of parked 380's. We may try to lure a large international route.
Maybe NOLA - Asia or Europe direct?

the hell if I know, they just had them in the renderings. They are planning for an optimistic future.
(Who knows we could get Austin 1985-2000 style growth)

Where'd you see them? TV?
NOLA.com is predictably late in posting anything.

Yeah WDSU.
I'm looking all over Google and nothing has been posted yet.
I'm just glad they are building it to look aesthetically pleasing. It's going to look good, Not Denver good, but nicer than most national airports.
Looks like a tower hotel attached to main building. Large building across the street. Landscaped roadway. I didn't see a tram. But IMO a rail it the old terminal area would be good for rental cars, cheaper parking, etc...
