No one is giving away drugs on purpose. But it could happen accidentally. The ones who will probably be affected most are the dealers and users who leave that shite laying around their house and their kids get into it thinking it's candy.

Yep. I can remember the razor blades in the apples scare when I was like 7 (1985). I can remember you could even take your Halloween candy to the ER and have it xrayed for free

Drug dealers aren’t giving away drugs for free to kids.

What drug dealer wants to hand out their product for free?

This!

Is is possible some drug laced candy go make it through to a kids Halloween sack? Sure. Anything is possible. But drug dealers aren't in the business of giving away their drugs for free. Particularly in a manner which man bring a ton of heat on them if they kill an innocent child rather than an willing buyer.

Unless you are new to trick or treating, I can assure you pre-Halloween fears of tainted candy have been reported annually for AT LEAST the last 35 years...and probably much longer. I, and I'm sure many others of a similar age, very much remember warnings of "tainted candy" in the 80's requiring parents to diligently inspect the loot. There were even urban legends of some parents running their kid's candy through x-ray machines to check for foreign substances.

Of course every parent should be vigilant on Halloween, but this is just the latest version of "I can't believe what this world is coming to" sensationalist reporting

We definitely will be inspecting.

I know Arthur and Bettie at the end of the street in the cul-de-sac are slinging to support their pension and they're going to be trying to expand their customer base so they can afford to give their 8 grandkids some nice Christmas toys.

I inspect my kids' candy. I usually take out all of the gummy bears and Gobstoppers. You can never be too sure. Plus, they're delicious.

I bet they also have emailed everyone they know to warn about people that flash their lights at other cars. That it’s really a gang thing and they will get shot!

The POLICE CHIEF of a major US city is parroting Panicked Mom's Face Book rumors. Holy shite! One would think he would be laser focused on, oh I don't know, the highest murder rate in the world taking place in his city or maybe the 500 officers they are short or maybe even one of his Captain's getting caught stealing and lieing about it.

But no... It's halloween candy.
