August is usually "coolinary" month in new orleans because it is the slowest time in the tourist and restaurant business. Alot of restaurants take a 2 week break as well during this time
So I would hold off here thinking this is a slam dunk
Why is August slow? Or a better question, why do things pick up in the fall?

Yea I am sure you are correct. No correlation at all. I am sure no businesses look at their year-over-year numbers. Why would they?
Carry on!

If you feed off click bait & confirmation biases by all means, revel in this from whatever city you are living in far far far away from here

Yea and many of those are in danger too...but it's only been 4 days!

If Lonn is ready to expose me, he should tell that law firm that he mentions. Cause they had no clue who he was when I emailed them

You think this mandate is a good thing for local businesses?

August is by far the slowest month of the year in New Orleans. We aren't just ya know, making this up. There's a reason why its Coolinary month and you see multiple restaurants go on 2-3 week breaks every year. It is very slow.
Could this month be slower than previous ones for a variety of reasons? Sure.
Could it have something to do with the mandate? Sure.
Saying it definitively does 4 days in in the slowest month of the year is ridiculous.

Why would I do that? I don't want any private business to suffer because of BS mandates and I am far from being a NOLA hater

I’ve been to 5 restaurants since last Friday, mostly uptown spots, all of them were running business as usual with decent crowds. If anything, the CBD and quarter are taking a hit with these folks that are canceling their trips to the city due to mandates.

Read the ensuing posts after your poorly worded headline

I honestly have not been to a restaurant or bar in NOLA yet since the mandate went into effect, and I probably won't for a few weeks as I am trying to take a long break from dining out.
So I honestly don't know how its effecting anyone.

My title is taken from the news report linked. Not sure why you are blaming me for it

So the business owners, that pay close attention to their numbers and data,
That is ridiculous. Sure, this mandate may harm them, but after just 4 days its an absolutely laughable news report that everyone should be making fun of

Lester…answer the question for the class Lester.
Why run?
Why run?

It's absurd. Went to dinner last night for ole lady's birthday and hit a bar for drinks after. Both places (CBD) were very anal about the Vaccine Cards and Negative Tests.
We were walking out of the bar and there were a group of grown arse adults getting turned away from the bar because they had neither of the requirements. Silly as the bar had about 8 people in there.
Sad, but yes, elections have consequences.

My fault, I should have clicked it. It’s Fox News, of course
Posted on 8/20/21 at 8:57 am to lsupride87
Why would they be limited to looking back at their books to just one year ago?
