I also dont think there are many people "willing to take a stand"when they get hungry and want their favorite food

Come on man. You’re better than this. You can still go to the grocery (for now) and drive thru etc so people will not go hungry! Come on man. People can also quickly find favorite restaurant a few miles down the road.

Americans dont have the will power to not be morbidly obese, they aint going to have the willpower to not go to their favorite dining places

I would love to see this work though and Nola go under so I am rooting for it

There are people, because of the mandate, that now feel more comfortable to go to the restaurant

People can still fill their fat gullets extremely easily with the mandate in the traditional sense you mention just going a few miles down the road. Fast food will still be easily available so everyone will still be able to go to Sonic to maintain their morbid obeseness.

If JP did the mandate then maybe things would change.

Why would I go to New Orleans to protest actions taken by their mayor? Should I also go to Rhode Island the next time some mayor does something idiotic there? I'll send you photos from the protest in Lafayette should our mayor ever decide to do something this fricking stupid...sound good?

See above, dum dum. If New Orleans residents want to allow this level of tyranny while doing nothing about it, then that's on them. Doesn't mean I can't point and laugh from 2 hours away at just how pathetic it is to not stand up for one's rights.

Our corporate is in NO. We go several times a year and stay for long weekends, conventions, football/pels games, etc. I won't be going back as long as things are the way they are.

The mayor clearly doesn't care about tourism and that's fine, but don't be bitching when the tourist don't come back.

Imagine selling out to eat in.

Yep.

Many events which would bring people in have been cancelled.

Any remaining conventions would probably think twice if there were nothing to do while there.

Would people go to Vegas if they couldn't gamble or do all the other activities that are the reason people go to Vegas?

Oddly enough folks with government jobs are yet to miss a paycheck. Funny how that works.

This was the same thing said when NOLA instituted mask mandates and restaurant restrictions before everyone else.

No idea if this vaccine bullshite spreads to other areas, but don't pretend we don't have recent evidence that ain't nobody going to do shite.

We have three years of ridiculuous liberal bullshite, and people responding with "well their goes their business". And then nothing happens. Ever. We are lazy as frick to our comforts as Americans. We arent willing to give up 0.0001% of that

I'm being 100% honest, I'd rather just eat at home than have to dine out in Jefferson Parish.
