That is ridiculous. Sure, this mandate may harm them, but after just 4 days its an absolutely laughable news report that everyone should be making fun of
Pretty simple to look at this week compared to last week though

Better yet, look at projections for October and September, which have had every festival cancelled. Decadence was just cancelled. Jazzfest, Buku, French Quarter fest, everything has been cancelled. No one is coming. People are cancelling their weddings here because the guests don't want to sit in a wedding venue with masks on or be forced to sit outside because they haven't been vaxxed.
Mardi Gras will just move elsewhere, people

I ate at a restaurant in Algiers earlier today. They didn’t ask if I had been vaccinated, which I have not been. Does the mandate not cover Algiers?

Good, we are full

Took out from Lebanon cafe last night at 8pm. One empty table between inside & outside

I will be making dinner reservations at multiple restaurants requiring vaccine passports for 8pm for 6pax and then canceling 5min before as I can’t find my proof of vaccination

Algiers isn’t part of New Orleans.
(get off my arse, I know the correct answer)

Everything left in Orleans is either ethnic or modern cuisine. The true decent traditional New Orleans cooking is in Jefferson for the most part.
ETA: Also better ethnic cuisine in Jefferson

August is usually "coolinary" month in new orleans because it is the slowest time in the tourist and restaurant business. Alot of restaurants take a 2 week break as well during this time
That’s under the assumption that they had a typical great business year and can afford to shut down. Most places are still struggling to make up for the losses from the first shutdown.

Good. It's time for New Orleans to die.

Wow. You actually said that.

Tell me what dish or cuisine. With the exception of French and the one German restaurant in the city, there is an equivalent or better in Jefferson.
I was born and raised in New Orleans and used to have the never leave the city attitude, but I have zero regrets now that I am out.

A big convention I was scheduled for in October quietly relocated out of New Orleans within a day or two of her mandate. High end hotel rooms and high dollar restaurants will miss out.
