Nola failed on its own.

New Orleans used to have 630,000 residents in city limits.

300,000 of them left for the suburbs. That coincides with its decline.

Hey, that has only happened like four or five times. I take offense!

Only thing more boring and repetitive than that video is its soundtrack.

I will just say this: I've never heard the term "street gravy" anywhere outside of New Orleans

My youngest daughter recently lived in the French Quarter for a year- Never saw so many drugged out zombies in my life! It was entertaining when we visited though, crazy shite in the streets every night AND day! ...

It's almost as if most Louisanans on this board are rooting for New Orleans to fail, which is strange, saddistic and also sort of sad.

Nobody has to root for it, it’s happening either way

New Orleans is such a great city. I don’t get the NOLA hate. Heading down there for a three day weekend to meet some friends. We will stay in the warehouse district. Always a good time. I’ve never feared for my safety.

And the murder and violent crime rate is on track to be at its lowest rate in well more than a half century.
Hate on!

This is how the entire world views the city outside of a few boomer natives with blinders on. And this is "best case".

In reality, the slums, the grime, the smell, the corruption, the crime, the squandering of a whole myriad of natural advantages is a literal tragedy.
