Let me reword that for you junior.
Why didn't they think more about the access road when initially planning the project? I think it will be a big problem but who knows.
Sonic
Nobody is meeting your dumb arse at Sonic b/c we know enough to fear retard strength.
Anyone who can read an occasional newspaper or two would know that the NEW ACCESS Road was part of the DOTD project list including the widening of I-10 in Baton Rouge.

Did they really forget to build the new access road to the new terminal? How is that possible?
Yes. They built the terminal away from the current access road.
But no worries, because state taxpayers are going to spend $200 million to add a new one.

This.
And it will include eastbound and westbound I-10 access.

Here is a better illustration of the airport, and New Orleans in general

I personally think orphaning the rental car deck is the biggest travesty. So now once again you have to get on a rental bus? BS.

All of the infrastructure is stranded on the wrong side of the east-west runways and will have no easy access to the new terminal. Long/short term parking, taxi lots, rideshare lots, all of it. It's amazing to me that this half thought out plan was allowed to go to construction.

A big brand new rental car facility.
Hey, but Mitch got his other "signature" to go along with empty pedestals.

I think the real question is how did they come up with "MSY" for the New Orleans airport which is actually in Kenner?

Relax, you people. The new terminal will be the shizzle. The lights on Loyola will be a pain, but traffic will flow. Much more parking at the new airport.
I live here, so I don't care about the rental cars. I hop shuttles in every city I go to. We ain't special.

I was hoping that they eventually dismantle the old terminal and build another runway there. Maybe MSY can be a hub for JetBlue or something.

The international airport of New Orleans was originally named Moisant Field and the MSY identification comes from the airport’s origins as Moisant Stock Yards, the name given to the land where the U. S. aviator John Bevins Moisant (Illinois 1868 – New Orleans 1910) crashed where the airport was later built.

It's been the IATA code for the New Orleans airport for as long as I can remember.

It's pretty horrible.
