Drink a cup of coffee you idiot. I said that a year old model could be had for "just over half of MSRP." That statement is factual.
Based off your own comments, who gives a shite? MSRP is made up. Those are your words. You're being misleading. Especially when you post that the Suburban supposedly holds only 47% of it's value 4 years later. That is based off MSRP, which as you say, is a bullshite number. Therefore, your data about retaining value is bullshite according to you, even though you're the one that posted it.
ETA: And your math sucks. $35k/$60k is a lot more than just over half. It's closer to 60% than 50%, 58.333% to be exact. Compare that to being about to buy a brand new one (with full warranty and no miles, which will have more value than the older one with more miles) that you can buy at $48k, you're not saving all that much by going the older route.

Lucky to get a Yukon every 4 years as a company vehicle. Never a major issue, just regular maintenance. Currently in a 2016, best so far.

Have a 2011 Tahoe with 60K and its been awesome. No problems whatsoever.

Thanks guys for all the input. Basically confirming my opinion on the two. Now I just need to find a large SUV with captain chairs. Don't mind buying luxury either.

My parents owned suburbans and silverados up until mid 2000s. Most would always have problems early on and seemed to have "cheap" materials for the interior. My Silverado was also, being fixed every 25k it seemed.
Does this not answer your question?

Finance manager at Chevy said Tahoe's are better as in they are tighter on the road and don't sway.

No bc I'm asking about newer vehicles. If i was buying a 2005, then I'd have my answer.

I've been in a 2015 Tahoe LTZ since last year. I haven't had any problems. It's been great. Would recommend.

In the same boat here. Leaning Sequoia, but also curious about the other full sizes. Anyone experience the sickness issue reported with the Tahoes / Yukons?

I had a '07 Avalanche (basically a Yukon) with the 5.3L with Active Fuel Management. I put almost 220k miles on it with only one minor problem. If they still made Avalanches, I'd have one. The new generation is obviously different but GM has a history of getting it right in SUVs and trucks after a redesign within a year or two.
I'd buy a Yukon or Suburban if I needed one.
I agree that the Toyota Land Cruiser is a wonderful alternative and superior in quality and (unfortunately) price.
Good luck,

We are debating between Yukon XL and Toyota Land Cruiser
Land cruiser drives very smooth , for that price get the LX Lexus

I've got a 2016 Tahoe LTZ and I could not be happier. I freaking love it!!!
Posted on 8/29/16 at 10:55 pm to Rossberg02
I have 2 2011 LTZs.
I don't buy new vehicles any more. I find one a few years old with low miles that is certified. At least $20K less than the new, just off the lot Tahoe.

The new fuel management 5.3l (07-14) will go down as the absolute biggest terd every built by GM. They are GMs answer to bankruptcy. I would compare it to the Mopar 4.7L from the early 2000s.
And the new 5.3L sounds like a bucket full of walnuts. I walk by them and just cringe. The first gen 5.3 is one of their best productions, great motors.
Would by a Toyota or Ford V8 if produced from 2007 into the future.

I have a 2015 Tahoe that I have owned for 14 months. I am taking it into the shop this morning for the fourth time, all different problems. As soon as I get it back I am trading it in for a 4Runner.

Ford Expedition. We have 4 kids all under the age of 14. The Taho had a leg room problem on the third row.

Anyone drive a new model version of these?
I've had a '15 Tahoe for over 2 years & love it. Had an '05 Tahoe before that & put 160,000 on it before trading it in for the new one.
Never had a big issue with either Tahoe.

I just bought my second LX. The interior finish is unmatched and the ride is great. I test drove the sequoia and the LC. The Lexus IS where is at. Buy them used. Same as buying a new Tahoe, imo.
