The easiest answer is for you to spend ~60 hours watching The Wire and get a PhD in street drug economics from Stringer Bell.

I don't feel like writing a tome to explain it, but just consider that it is possible to "teach" your clientele that they actually like cat meat better or at least it is a better product for them given the economics.

Sure, there are well-heeled segments of the market that will pay for the Ferrari of drugs, but the vast majority just want a clapped-out Toyota Tercel that will get them to their destination. They drive every day, all day; the Ferrari drivers usually just take it out on the weekends.

People unfamiliar with the drug world always want to claim the dealer laced the drugs or did it purpose. The vast majority of drug dealers are fricking morons always high and careless. The only coke or weed dealer has become rare. These morons will buy and sell anything they can and it’s not like they take necessary steps to prevent contamination. Know someone that smoked a blunt and OD’d on fent? It was not laced. It’s contaminated everything he handles in trace amounts and it’s potent

If you research the fentanyl related deaths you'll find that the decedents aren't purchasing "fentanyl" rather they are purchasing more traditional drugs that might be laced with fentanyl if they're lucky

I have to disagree with this, years ago this may have been the case, but recently, I would estimate in the last 3-4 years, fentanyl has been marketed and sold by itself with increasing regularity (at least on the west coast and here in Las Vegas) it has almost completely replaced heroin at a street user level and the majority of deaths via it are people who know that they are using fentanyl and either have a low tolerance, or else get a batch that is significantly stronger/less cut.

I'm not saying that's what college kids are oding from, but typically the cycle here goes prescribed pain pills, buying pain pills on the street, the source for pain pills being removed, and people resorting to illicit opioids.

In the past that would have been heroin, now it is usually fentanyl or "tranq" which is xylazine but typically sold under the guise of fentanyl

This man is correct. Nothing was mixed or stepped on back then. Glad I was out of it by the time Oxy hit. The only people I knew personally that OD was from Oxy. Also several friends can't even hold a conversation anymore due to those pills.

There are some sick people out there that think it's funny to kill people.

And many of these drugs are cut on the same surface. There is cross contamination that occurs in cases. Cocaine that was cut and mixed on the same surface some heroin powder cut with fent was just mixed together on etc.
