There’s some great conspiracies brewing on X with the shooting. New one is shooter was wearing a high quality face mask. Apparently, you can easily get something like a Tom Cruise mask off Etsy, for example. Could be difficult to tell with the ski mask on. The conspiracy then goes on as to that’s why he went to Starbucks. He wanted to be photographed with partial face showing that’s not his.

Sounds dumb and far fetched, but entertaining to think about.

NBC was referring to the shooter as a “mass shooter”

Are these people robots?

Also, a “pro” would’ve been one shot and out of there.

You’ve probably never done an hit. Always a double tap for a real pro.

I’m thinking Ruger Mark IV with a Chinese solvent trap. I’ve got one of those and I didn’t know they came in 9mm.

I didn’t know they found 9mm. I was watching how he racked it and thinking Rimfire ammo can be unreliable.

B&T Station Six-9 is stupid expensive. You don’t see them every day.

That’s what I originally figured until I saw the video. That was a pro, not a disgruntled father

And do tell why a cooperation built entirely around risk management would so openly take this kind of risk?

You act like there aren’t former gangbangers with health insurance and cancer.

Judging by the pictures of him and his clothes/backpack, starbucks, citibike, he seems like a 25-35 year old upper/upper middle class white male

It was probably a contract killer from the Balkans in disguise

Gun jammed a couple of times.

Subsonic rounds don't create enough energy to fully eject, and the suppressor will reduce energy even more.

Shooter knew what he was doing, the gun "jamming" was by design so he could keep the casings.

Just saw on the news he was shot in the calf. I’ve heard “leg” all day and this was the first time I’ve specifically heard calf. If you watch the video, I think it’s clear he was shot in the calf. Makes me feel even more like this person really knew what he was doing. I feel like a calf shot first might be the most guaranteed for the target to go on the ground without going very far.

But he didn't keep the casings, they're on the ground.

He wasn't too bright. He left enough of his face exposed where the cops can use facial recognition technology to possibly match up his driver's license photo, passport. etc. More likely, someone out there will recognize him and turn him in. He's done.

I’m convinced everything “found” was found on purpose. Dude seems pretty calculated and calm. Could end up giving the killer way too much credit, but we will see.
