Yep. It says a lot about lack of transportation care in the state when it only has one North/South interstate...and it's only part-finished at that.

And no, that little tit of 55 doesn't count.
the north south Interstate in LA needs to be the 165 corridor from Lake Charles to Monroe

It is a virtual weight in motion station. It weighs trucks as they pass using sensors in the concrete. It eliminates the need for a full blown weigh station.

This is the first vwim system in the state but there will be more of them popping up in the next few years.

Arkansas is slowly planning to extend existing I-530 down to the Monticello area as it is. I think they should continue charging south.

I believe that I-69 was supposed to use that route or most of it, but J. Bennett Johnston got it changed to go through Shreveport.

If you're with WFSO yall are some day-ruining MFers sitting there perched by the Myrtles or by Cecil Graves. Glad I never speed(on purpose) though.

And what's a check station? Technology stuff? Nm I see now.

I'm all for technology that helps catch bad guys. A License Plate Reader is what caught up with the the Duplantiers'(the elderly couple who lived on Highland Road) murderers in Florida.

Wouldn’t that have made Alec the only town in LA that has 2 interstates that criss cross each other in an x pattern.

I guess it pays to be a senator that you can push a project further north to get it closer to your backyard.

If I69 is ever built in Shreveport, then Shreveport will have 3 major numbered interstates in that town, 20, 49, 69. Bingo

If it is a weight in motion system, then they need to put more of them on various major roads in the state like US 90, and Hwy 3235. I believe that their is a lot of overweight truck traffic that drives within the state, that tears up the roads and bridges.

wouldn’t be 69. The numbering goes from west to East for odd numbers. 69 would go through Alabama or something. I think it would be 47

It is definitely 69.

There are legs of 69 being built and upgraded right now in the state of Texas.

There are actually 3 southern legs that will go into Mexico.

Well I know that... was referring to the lower numbers being along the Pacific coast, to the higher numbers being along the Atlantic

I69 is a big cluster of a plan for a nafta highway that replicates more direct interstates and meanders northeast with a big stretch already there in Indiana

I think a committee of politicians cobbled it together for pork purposes
