unpopular fact
the IT guys keeping AWS afloat are 10000000000x more important than any nurse or grocery employee
but guess who will be recognized

What about the ol' baw that kept cutting yards through all this?
Or the pest control guy?
Or the plumbers?
Electricians?
frick it, Just print more! It is only money. There's no way the government is going to hike taxes down the road to cover this shitshow. They are giving out of the kindness of their hearts. Bunch of bullshite.

This whole thing reeks of the 1920s all over again and we know how that decade ended !

Don’t mandate that I stay home to save the world and then further reward the people that didn’t have to. I lost my job bc you sent me home. Now you’re going to give 25k to those you let continue to work?
Real fricking inclusive you moronic imbeciles.

collecting unemployment are making more money than a lot of the people that are actually still working...won’t be upset if the hard working people get rewarded.

And you frickers thought teachers were bad

frick that. I'm essential as working in an area of defense/healthcare manufacturing. No tuition and I worked my arse off to pay for school with very few loans.
People who take certain jobs understand certain things come with that. Doctors/Nurses have to understand they are needed in times like this. They shouldn't get extra benefits for doing their job. If you don't like the risks that come along with certain jobs, go work elsewhere.

Let's just add a 0 to everyone's bank account and be done with it. Unreal.

Its fricking stupid and an insult to everyone whose job was ordered closed by the government’s overreaching shut down orders. There’s millions of people who’ve lost their jobs or business due to government ordering them shut down for 2 months and counting. I’m sure most of those people would’ve loved to have had their job considered essential so they could’ve kept working and bringing home an income.

That’s not what I meant...I think people are misunderstanding my intention of the post. People keep talking about how low paid workers at businesses have no reason to work or go back to work because of the government checks getting sent out now for equal to or more what they normally make. The people who stuck it out should see some benefit.

Im thankful for grocery clerks, but this is some major hyperbole.

Election year is a bad time for a crisis. That idea is absurd ! But then, one of my favorite movie lines, “ Impossible .... but doable”. I would not disregard anything in this partisan congress.

Only 1 Republican supports this nonsense. Vote red!

If I had any college aged kids I’d tell them to get their arse to the grocery store and get a job tomorrow.
I'm an essential healthcare worker. I paid for my kids school and loans and it would follow that I would want to be the one paid back. They are in college, hence not working at a grocery store. Neither they, nor I would qualify. Good luck. I am however opposed to anyone getting reimbursed for anything at all for having to work during this cold season.

What if you’re an essential with a real job like welding that pays better than college jobs?
